Professor Ishmael Palin has requested deliveries of Thargoid artefacts to the Arque system for scientific study.
The first phase of the project took place last month and focused on meta-alloys. In a public announcement, Professor Palin outlined the second phase:
“My ongoing analysis of the Thargoids’ biomechanical technology has reached a point where fresh material is needed. Specifically, I require large supplies of Thargoid probes, resin and sensors.”
“I appreciate that there are risks involved in transporting such dangerous alien artefacts. Hopefully, the corrosion resistant cargo racks that were provided following this project’s initial phase will prove useful.”
“As well as payment in credits, I am pleased to offer Grade 5 engineered Heavy Duty Hull Reinforcement Packages as an additional reward.”
Pilots are asked to deliver Thargoid probes, Thargoid resin and Thargoid sensors to Baird Gateway on the planet Arque 4 E.

Yes people who read galnet have known this part two was due after part one completed a long time ago...
If they have a FC they could have started collecting a long time a go. if you dont have a FC then yes you may now be behind those that do in this CG...

G5 Heavy Duty Hull Reinforcement Packages don't seem all that exciting.. :D

Now if we could get them at lower mass than engineering them ourselves, that could be very interesting.

Can any FC store the probes with them being corrosive, or do you have to do something or buy something for your carrier to make it safe?? (I have 2 corrosion resistant on the ship I plan to use to collect and I guess the FC will repair the SRV if I find any on ground(??)) Not sure where I will find stuff, just gonna head out to Delphi and hope to get lucky... I have never fought a thargoids so I would like to avoid the threat 3-7 locations. Set up my Dolphin as a hazmat ship with operator multi limpets for hatch breaker and collector, and a manifest scanner plus the size 4 & 5 corrosion cargo from the CG... and hopefully the Dolphins 600m/s will be fast enough for me to run. (I added 2 advanced missile racks to it but realized I don't have enough mats to synthesize AX missiles). Not sure if t-goids attack shields or hull more so I have both around 500... Added a field neutralizer and SRV bay, but I could swap either of those out if it's recommended to use an extra shield booster or hull reinforcements instead.

Any tips would be very welcome

Short version,
Thargoid contact is not required...
Crashed ships on planet can have the Items... (SRV use required)
NHSS 0-2 can have the items.. (RNG item drop not insured you are rolling a dice.)
Damaged mega ships can RNG the items... You can be long gone before thargoid arrive only collect the CG items...

Try to have fun...

It'll end up with a new gun to shoot thargoids with, possibly on foot for "variety".
Honestly, the Thargoid plot is as two dimensional as a bit of A4, with "shoot thargoids" written on both sides.

the FC holds them no probs.
I mean, besides that I have loads, they are on the carriers goods list....



as Palin goes, yes, he is really asking to get zapped.
next ships at his base are likely to be a lot more of and a lot bigger than the last ones.

Can someone explain me what this means:
"Grade 5 engineered Heavy Duty Hull Reinforcement Packages as an additional reward" ?

We can already purchase them, what do they have special than the standard reward "Grade 4D/5D engineered Heavy Duty Hull Reinforcement Packages"?

No Engineering Required.. Engineering is allready done... Yes the mats are allready applied to get grade 5... and no unlocking SELENE JEAN engineer required...
You don't have to go find materials, you dont then have to play the random percentage increase per applied materials to do the engineering...

You can't purchase them Pre engineered... You can purchase them with zero engineering, Yes.
Then do the engineering to them your self..
but with the distane that is building about the Material grind required to do any engineering, these are offered fully G5 engineered allready...

Class 4 and 5 unengineered are availale to buy...
Class 4 and 5 engineered to grade 5 are being offered as gifts...
