GALNET - 14 OCT 3307 - Terrorist Attack at Hadrian Duval’s HQ

Pilots Federation ALERT

Explosions have struck Dyson City starport in the Paresa system, home of Hadrian Duval’s organisation Nova Imperium.

The starport suffered severe structural damage plus the corrosive effects of caustic enzymes, characteristic of the customised weapons used by the NMLA. Initial reports state that over fifteen thousand people have been killed and a similar number injured.

The following statement was issued by Praetor Leo Magnus, the former head of security for Nova Imperium who was seconded to ACT:

“Shortly before this attack, my team intercepted a communication between suspected Neo-Marlinist supporters. This referred to an imminent attempt to kill Imperator Hadrian Duval, Lady Astrid Minerva-Duval and their unborn child.”

“I immediately ordered the Praetorian Guard to move the Imperator’s family off-station, which was achieved minutes before the bombs detonated. I am pleased to report that they survived this brutal attack, but unfortunately the remaining population could not have been evacuated in time.”

A state of emergency has been declared in the Paresa system, with an urgent request for independent pilots to assist with rescuing survivors from Dyson City starport.

The Empire confirmed that as per the Treaty of Paresa, it will provide military and medical support to Nova Imperium. ACT is performing investigations to learn more about the attack.

And once again the Imperial delegation to the ACT proves how it is done while the PDB has yet to provide anthing at all towards fighting the NMLA... :sneaky:

Assuming this is not a false flag (and I doubt Frontier is ready to put such a twist in at this stage) and it is the NMLA, those Fednecks that gaslighted us back in May when they dared to raise arms against us have a lot of answering to do...

As I said somewhere else: The whole heir to the Duvals is merely an act to draw out Theta7 and get on his trail. I for one will take my own T-7, the "Harbinger of Soteria" and help some people out.

Hadrian "mysteriously" escapes, when his own guy in ACT "finds" information about an attack...
Sounds like someone is going after himself to deflect the blame...
What could Hadrian do to prove his innocence at this stage? He's been gunned down by the NMLA, supported the fight against the Neo-Marlinists who later accused him of being their own leader, and had his HQ bombed. Oh, also his political stance is the exact opposite of Marlinism. Like...what else can the guy do? Do we dunk him underwater and see if he sinks?

Glad to hear Hadrian and his family are safe. The ATC does a good job without going full privacy distopia like the PDB, which has done absolutely nothing against the NMLA.

There's the unfortunate population death, but since these station attacks don't really change the "population" stat in the galaxy/system map it feels like Universal Cartographics doesn't even care to count the deaths.

Maybe most of the dead were passengers on the docked 1% of all liners out there?

It's just a little detail but I tend to ramble about these since population is my favorite stat and wish it was more dynamic :geek: Since this time they've given an exact 15k figure they still might update it eventually..

Ooh! what does that do for my liner which fell short, being in the top 1.00023 percent?! Could it be that Slumlord Liner is now...?
Pardon my basking
This does call for a shot.

Oh, also his political stance is the exact opposite of Marlinism.
Exactly! -By pinning the blame on his natural enemy, he kills two birds with one stone: Eliminate rivals to the throne (through outright murder, or by destabilising their position), and legitimise the persecution of Marlinists.

Evidence shows he is doing the exact opposite of pinning the blame on ordinary Marlinists.
“However, many of us see disturbing parallels between the brutal purge of Nova Imperium’s followers in 3305 and the current crusade against the Marlinists. I call upon those in power not to repeat this mistake – the NMLA is the common enemy we must unite against.”
But, since I imagine that will be claimed to be another component of the increasingly elaborate ruse Hadrian is constructing, look at something more practical, like Serene Harbour. That jailbreak required top level Imperial access. Hadrian doesn't have that. If Hadrian is to be the NMLA's leader, that is probably the most concrete inconsistency that needs to be cleared up.
