GALNET - 15 FEB 3307 - Federation Damaged by Corruption and Conspiracy

Federal citizens are in uproar after the former CEO of Core Dynamics was revealed to have destroyed Starship One to increase company profits.

The trial of Fleet Admiral Vincent showed that Jupiter Rochester attempted to replace Jasmina Halsey with Zachary Hudson to secure military contracts with the Federal Navy.

The Federal Intelligence Agency has arrested several co-conspirators, but its investigation is hampered by Jupiter Rochester loyalists splitting away from Core Dynamics. His new independent faction, Jupiter Division, has engaged in conflict against Federal forces in the HIP 54530 system.

President Hudson has claimed ignorance of the assassination plot, but public opinion polls show a decrease of trust in the Republican Party. Many have voiced anger at such corruption at the heart of the Federation, calling for further investigations into the corporate sector’s influence on government.

Political embarrassment has also affected the Liberal Party, with Shadow Vice President Isolde Rochester attempting to distance herself from her eldest son:

“Jupiter’s horrendous actions were his alone, made completely without our knowledge. My whole family is appalled at his illegal activity. We have offered to aid the authorities in bringing him to justice.”

While even I as an Imperial are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt I would say that his days as President are numbered if the Federation wants to protect the moral and political integrity of the office...

Really curious to see how the rest of the Rochester family will be suffering from all of this as almost all of them are in positions where your reputation is essential.

This Jupiter Bezos storyline could get interesting, especially if it leads to a significant new power in the hub.

Would like to see Colonia get some attention though. Maybe Jaques station going on another walkabout?

Oh no... I just had a scary thought:

What if the Jupiter Division is the mysterious supporter of the NMLA inside the Federation? :eek:

Everything that happened benefitted Core Dynamics after all as the rising tensions between Federation and the Empire ultimately resulted in a sweet deal for five new Farraguts.

Just wait, Jupiter's personal flagship will escape because it suddenly is spewing caustic enzyme payloads out of its gunports, crippling its pursuers... 🧐

It's the only responsible media outlet to approach, when we see such unwarranted hatred in online games. They have such accurate and reliable information too.
