Achilles Aerospace facility targeted by malicious agents

20 JUN 3310

The Alioth-based facility housing production of Achilles’ new Supercruise Overcharge capable Frame Shift Drives came under attack today.

The crime was perpetrated by a small group of individuals piloting a ship loaded with high-impact explosive weaponry, seemingly with the intention of sabotaging SCO drive production.

The group piloting the ship had posed as Achilles’ Aerospace engineers and had somehow gained high-level clearance to bring the vehicle deep into the facility. Achilles themselves are unsure how this could have been possible, stating to reporters that the malicious agents would have required “incredibly sophisticated technology” to forge the appropriate passes.

The group were able to bypass the facility’s first checkpoint before the automated security robots identified them as a potential threat. The malicious agents apparently opened fire on the facility, preventing the robots from attempting a peaceful resolution.

There were no survivors of the conflict, and none of the malicious agents were identifiable in any active database.

Achilles reports that they have increased security tenfold since the incident, and that this should be considered a testament to the quality of the security robots produced by their Robotics division.

Achilles also reassures consumers that the incident has had no impact on Supercruise Overcharge module manufacturing.

Insofar as Supercruise Overcharge drives use Titan technology, remember not to discount the possibility of Far God adherents protesting the Achilles facility!
Much as I'd like to see them have any reaction at all to the death of several Titans, I dont think they'd have the resources to pull something like this off.

As far as potential twists go, I do wonder about the actual outcome of this incursion, though. Something about how the ship "apparently" opened fire, to no actual result, which conveniently prevented a peaceful resolution. Could be a false flag? But probably not, its Sirius until proven otherwise.

Certain foLks dont like being shown Up, expect that this is only the Beginning of a coming corporate shadow war.
Maybe it is that the hands that grip the wheel Are growing weak , maybe it is that other hanDs are reaching out for it

Surely they are angry pilots because the new SCO units overheat their engines too much and they constantly need repairs, or because they got stranded in space without fuel when their reserves were recently full. They must decrease consumption and temperature, or they will face the consequences.

I reread the news several times and didn't understand what this was all about. The only thing that caught my eye was the mention of some advanced robot guards from Achilles.
But what conclusions will follow from the news I did not understand :(

There’s some more obscure lore behind it - I’m relatively sure - about how there are a few powerful individuals in the ‘shadows’ (figuratively) trying to control and guide pretty much everything humanity does. Generally, they are known/referred to as the “Club”.

Sirius is one of their main pawns to keep track of and/or control technologies in the market, quite often with subversive strategies. Apparently, they once offered to ‘partner up’ with Ram Tah on human-Guardian hybrid technology, which he declined(or at least just didn’t respond to), a few years ago. Then, mysteriously, someone decided to attack Ram Tah’s base, and they were linked to Sirius shortly after said attack.

Other examples are the CEOs or chairmen of companies suddenly dying of “illnesses” when they refused a buyout from Sirius. Which happens to occur at a time of the company getting the offer encountering financial difficulties. Often, said technology isn’t seen again - look up MetaDrive.

But even at a surface level it’s just Sirius being donks and trying to monopolize everything. The reason why, well, the above… if ‘money’ is not an answer about it, because I’m sure Li Yong-Rui is quite Sirius about it as well.

(I’m sorry… but not really)
