It would be neat to see a court of law in the Galnet news, which shows recent bans for the past week. For example:
Today in the Alliance United Courts CMDR Maddyman10 was sentenced to 30 days of hard labor following his illegal trading. (which could signify selling or trading accounts)
I believe that is a reasonable and easily scripted Galnet news event. Obviously if there are larger amounts of people being banned, the message could be much less personal and look more similar to the System Traffic Reports. We could create one omnipotent court, i.e. Grand Jury of Citizens; or it could be generated randomly per CMDR sentenced, and only shown in that faction's territory. Obviously if the rate of bans are to high, having more courts would make it easier to dish out less clustered news. Or we could use multiple courts such as the Lower, Sector, and Grand courts depending on the punishment.
Perhaps we don't even need to add this to the actual game. Just a ticker on the website or a "magistrate's page" that shows the latest week's bans/punishments. I think it would be both very entertaining, and useful. It would discourage cheating, while also encouraging all of the law-abiding commanders that those who are cheating are not going unnoticed. Let me know what everyone thinks. I only thought of this idea 15 minutes ago, and it could certainly use some polishing.
