The Galnet feed in the main menu is a nice addition but it's also pretty useless. You can't switch between the articles and you can't click on them for the full version. I don't know if it makes sense to waste lots of dev hours for it but the term half baked comes to mind... So if anyone finds the time it would be nice to make it actually useful.

It's a teaser to remind you that the info is in-game. Jeez.
Don't get me wrong, I am not really complaining since it's not something I care about. Just something I noticed.
There is plenty of space on the main start screen for a voting system.
Every week or so, I will play the audio feed as I am flying around so I do not need to read it. Kind of a nice way to get the info while in game and not waste time.
Then it should be headlines only, right? I don't have time to read the text before it scrolls and I can't control when it does. Clicking, if it's not going to allow me to actually read it, could have some action related to actually wanting the information, like maybe scheduling that story into the in-ship playlist?
That all seems like way more work than just making it show me the story long enough to read it.

I agree, but there are bigger fish to fry. On a similar note it would be nice to be able to move the camera around the ship, and maybe have it floating in space with a picturesque backdrop rather than sat in a standard dark hanger.
Each story stays up for different amount of time - like RNG is involved with the timing of how long each is displayed. Seems nothing gets into ED without a call to the RNG function. 
Spot on! I thought the same. The first news disappear almost immediately and there's no way to switch it back to it other than waiting for the complete list to scroll...
