GalNet News about BD-22 3573 - player generated?

There is a GalNet news about the Governor of the Forrester Station in BD-22 3573. Is this news item player generated or is it officially from FD?
If it's from FD, is it an indication that a certain bug got fixed with the last server maintenance?

I find it hard to separate fan fiction from official fiction. In my opinion fan generated news items should be marked in a way that makes it clear, that it's fan generated.

Is that really necessary? If a piece of news is on the official GalNet it's, well, official, even if it's fan-made, as Frontier check that any entries fit into the lore and storylines they have planned. In effect, fan-submitted entries become part of the official fiction.

I want to know if a news story is part of something player do or something FD comes up with. I agree that something a player submitted becomes official fiction. If FD publishes something it could be something to push a certain story line or there could be more to it. A simple "CMDR XY reporting" would be enough for me and I don't think that would make the player generated story less important.

If the news item is from FD it could be an in-game explanation for something else - like the change in fuel cost, or the reduction of the repair costs or the space station capital ship incident.

Don't player news have the name of the commander who submitted them at the bottom? I know that was the case with the two entries of mine that were published.

I was thinking a similar thing the other day OP. But that's probably beacuase I was in a grumpy 'why couldn't ED have been single player' mode.

I generally assume Fan made if it references a CMDR name directly.

As for the fiction itself, it doesn't matter. "Official" fiction as well as user-made fiction enriches the game world.

However, user-made entries are never related to new CGs (as far as I know), while FD-generated fiction migth be worth a trip in order to have a closer look. That's the main difference for me and this is, why I am leaning towards supporting the OP.
