I see Galnet as a newsfeed. Most stories are just that - stories. Not meant to be secret hints at massive riches or precursors to giant plot arcs.
Then again, some might be.

+1. If you already know for sure the game is pointing you to set course and strike it rich, the experience has already played out for you in a way. Nothing wrong with a bit of actual adventure and mystery. Hope Galnet feeds can strike the right balance between enticing players with interesting possibilities, while keeping us reminded of the fact that we probably shouldn't believe everything we read.

ive seen that little wisp thing too. in lawd 26 and in some others a few weeks ago but cant remember which. it was closer to the starting areas tho. i even tried to chase it at one point but eventually it sorta just flies to one side.
anyway i wanted to add something else to this as far as the system goes. there are other systems near lawd 26 with very similar qualities. resource extraction areas and many many ships in the system and pirates too. i didnt write down the name but i will return and give that info today soon. id say this system im in has more ships in it than ive seen in most. its a federal system and the federal patrols are going crazy in super cruise buzzing my ship at super high speeds. its like they will come up behind me and just whiz past at super speed and do it over and over.
EDIT: ok the system near LAWD 26 that is similar is Luyten 145-141 there is a stattion really close to the resource extraction sites unlike in lawd 26 where the hub is kinda far away. this got me in a tight spot the other day as i was taking on an elite clipper and got him down to 15% hull before he busted my canopy and i didnt have time to make it back to the hub before i ran out of O2. also there is a high tech system within 10-25 ly named wise something. easy to find

If you came to LAWD 26 looking to mine and were disappointed, Delkar is not far away and it has Pristine Metallic Rings. I found one rock that was spitting out chunks of 40% - 60% Platinum! Granted, that was not typical, but there is some good mining there and lots of high value metals.
