GALNET - why did I open that screen ???

Huh...? It's a straight up list of the latest news articles as well as top scrolling headlines. The main beef of it is the article you've clicked on(Or opened by default). It's pretty straight forward and couldn't be any simpler... Maybe a filter system but I doubt that's needed with the limited news articles posted. Would be nice to have some community focused articles where actual players(Trusted) could write about goings ons or what's happening in faction specific zones for all to read on.
I think it's a big improvement, love the Galnet theme music too!
we must not be looking at the same thing... I didn't count but I figure there were something like 100 entries in there?
And actually looking at them? Eeek. Scroll option on the left to cycle though each item that you have to click on the get the 'beef' on the right side of the screen?
The old screen was fairly easy to use, especially with a brief 2 liner on each, and that 'arrow' to indicate community missions.
But this thing? imho, information overload, and again imho, not too easy to browse though.
oh well, maybe it's just me.

The large amount of entries was a recap of all Galnet news items so far, for new players to catch up I guess. You don't have to read them all! And isn't there still a couple of lines summary in each news item, before you click on it? There's also a handy new feature where there's a link that can plot a course to the system relevant to the news item or CG, if you want to contribute.
I love the new GalNet news screen. It actually makes reading the news seem fun and worthwhile.
And yeah I have a ton of them too, all the way back down to ye'olde Onionhead conflict. I guess it's just an archive of all the old news for those who want to go read further back.

The news made me really sad Lady Kahina isn't a power, or at least a personality with an art asset to be placed next to the stories about her.
I really think the Empire is overly divided at having four powers compared to the Federation's two and the Alliance's one! I guess maybe (hopefully?) the Alliance has only half the players the Federation has which in turn has half the players the Empire has?
