Game crashes while loading the main menu

This problem only happened the first time I started up the game after starting steam. Now however, i can't play the game at all. Yesterday I had "no" issues in this regard, but today suddenly the game won't start up.
I've tried verifying the game, re-installing the game, re-starting my pc. None of if helped. Does anyone know another workaround?

Yep, me too. It's the only time the game crashes. When restarting everything runs fine and smooth as silk.
I've also send in the crash report every time.
