Game: if a Subspecie/Breed selector is implemented what options do you want to see?

As the title implies, if a subspecies/Breed selector is ever added to a potential sequel, what animals are you expecting to receive the selector and what would be your choices of breeds.

Personally, when the system get suggest here, i'm more interest in the Breed aspect of it, for sure seeing people get thrilled about receiving/ never hearing about the Sumatran tiger again is cool, but what sounds really interesting about it is the idea of receiving the highland cattle, Ankole watussi and Texas longhorn all in one animal, and the same is valid for all the other domestics.

At the same time however, i'm also interest in subspecies that looks different enough for the already seen subspecies, like the forest buffalo, but of course they aren't as interesting.

So, what exactly are you waiting and wanting for this potential system?

If theres no significant difference in subspecies, the full species is allways preferable, for example a generic asiatic black bear over the formosan black bear, but if there is they should just choose the one that makes the most sense instead of clearly basing it of one subspecies but calling it by the generic name (looking at you sichuan takin).
Regarding breeds, they should just be their own species as any breeds that are implemented should be morphologically distinct.
For example if we get domestic rabbits, id vastly prefer something like the flemish giant or a lop rabbit over just a generic "rabbit"

These are the ones I'd like to see most personally:
  • Takin - Mishmi, golden, Sichuan, Bhutan
  • Sable Antelope - Southern, Zambian, Ansell's, giant, Roosevelt's
  • Bongo - mountain, lowland
  • Dall Sheep - thinhorn, stone
  • African Buffalo - Cape, mountain, Central, forest
  • American Bison - Plains, wood
  • Reindeer (assuming the 6-species models isn't adopted) - barren-ground, Peary, boreal woodland, Finnish forest, Svalbard, mountain
  • Moose - European, Ussuri, Eastern, Alaskan (I suspect some subspecies lumping is needed)
  • Red Deer - common, Caspian, Barbary (I suspect some subspecies lumping is needed)
  • Plains Zebra (assuming the monotypic model isn't supported) - maneless, Grant's, Chapman's, Burchell's, quagga (why not have some fun with this roster?)
  • Horse - Przewalski's, Shetland pony, Clydesdale, Appaloosa, Konik pony, Campolina, Welsh pony
  • African Wild Ass - Somali, American standard donkey, Andalusian donkey, Poitou donkey
  • Dromedary Camel - Arvana, Majaheem (I remember having an illustrated animal encyclopedia that listed 4 breeds, can't find it now unfortunately but I'd list all the ones from that book)
  • Wild Boar - Central European, North African, Indian, Japanese, Carpathian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Formosan, Ussuri, banded, Tamworth pig (with spotted patterning, we're not here to run farming shows), Hampshire pig, Kunekune pig, American Yorskshire pig, Vietnamese pot-bellied pig (I suspect wild boar are in need of severe subspecies lumping)
  • Domestic Goat - Alpine, Oberhasli, West African dwarf, Kalbian, Irish, Danish, Boer, Australian cashmere
  • Domestic Sheep - Hill Radnor, Suffolk, Manx Loaghtan, Kajli, Red Engadine, Xalda, Cameroon, Tong
  • Domestic Cattle - Highland, Holstein, Hereford, American Angus, Ankole-Watisui, Texas longhorn, Yakutian, Umblachery zebu
  • Chicken - Sussex, Jersey giant, silkie, featherless (couldn't find a formal name unfortunately), Shamo, Onagadori, Polish, Plymouth rock
  • Galapagos Giant Tortoise - Hood Island, Western Santa Cruz, Abingdon Island, Fernandina, Sierra Negra, Chatham Island, Volcán Wolf
  • Green Iguana (ideally elevated to habitat animal in PZ2, mostly using the Reptile Database's model) - Saban black, Grenadines horned, Saint Lucia horned, common, Central American

I would like to see that in PZ2, Prehistoric Kingdome did it well with the species selector system and is one of the things that PZ2 should have as well!!!

Some examples os subespecies different enough that i would like to see if we get that mechanic

  • Grey Wolf : Mexican, Canada, Euroasia and Arabic wolf
  • African Buffalo : Forest & Cape
  • Brown Bear : Grizzly, Euroasian, Gobi and Himalayan
  • Leopard : Amur, African and Indian
  • Tiger : Amur, Bengal & Sumatran
  • Takin : Sichuan and Golden
  • Red Fox : Alaskan, Arabian and Euroasian
  • Red Dear : NA, Europe and one of the Middle East?
  • African Bush Elephant : Desert and Savannah Variant
  • all the domestic : at least one more breed

I apreciate you guys optimism, as IMO Frontier would likelly just restrain themselfs for a small number of subspecies, like two or three, in a similar way to Prehistoric kingdom, while also keeping domestic and wild animals separete (e.g the wild boar and domestic pig being two separete animals).

My actual wants for this potential system would be:
Subspecies:
Tiger - Siberian/amur, Bengal and Sumatran
Brown bear: Grizzly and Eurasian
Takin: Mishmi, golden and Sichuan
Wild boar: Central Europe, Indian and japanese
African buffalo: Cape and Red forest
Asian elephant: Sri lanka, Indian amd Sumatran
Leopard: African, Amur and Persian
Grey wolf: all ingame species

Breeds:
Cattle: Texas Longhorn, Highland, Ankole watussi.
Chickens: Sussex, Rhode island and Canela Preta (i have no idea how they are called in english, so...)
Pigs: tamworth, Kunekune and Viatnemese pot-bellied.
Donkey: American standart and mediterranean miniature
Sheep: Hill hadnor, Australian white and cameroon

I woudn't mind if other animals such as lions receive subspecies, but they are at the bottom of my priorities, compared to those guys.

I think this could be cool but really it is only needed for a few species and should probably be limited to three at most. Also I didn't include domestics because I'd be here all day, maybe another time. Here is my ideal list:

African Buffalo: Cape and Congo (Cape is the most iconic and what we have now but Congo looks so different and gives us a large African rainforest ungulate which would be used quite differently).
Tiger: Siberian, Sumatran, Malayan (Siberian we have now, obviously with its fluffiness its iconic. I went with two more, Malayan to replace the Bengal since they look mostly the same and is actually kept in zoos outside its range, the Sumatran is common and has a distinct smaller appearance so I thought It'd be worth including).
Ostrich: North African and South African (The South African is more typical but the North African subspecies with the red neck is becoming more important in zoos for conservation purposes, this would be a pretty easy one to include and give a good message while having an obvious difference in appearance).
Brown Bear: Eurasian, Grizzly, Syrian (We already have the Grizzly and obviously it works great for North America, Eurasian is a must for Europe of course, Syrian has a unique colouration and throws a bone to the Middle East... Goodbye Himalayan, nobody will miss you).
Plains Zebra: Grant's, Burchell's, Chapman's (All these have differences in their stripe patterns and are from differing parts of the continent, it would be a simple texture swap but players would be able to contrast and compare easily so I think this could be a fun one).
Red Panda: Chinese and Nepalese (Quite a striking difference in fur colour, especially the face. This one is even debated to be on the species level so might not count).
Grey Wolf: Arctic, Eurasian, Mackenzie Valley (One more typical looking subspecies for Eurasia and North America (Mackenzie Valley also has some really nice black morphs) and the Arctic feels too iconic to not include... Sorry Mexican Wolf fans, maybe a Coyote would suffice?)
Lion: Southeast African, Asiatic, Barbary (Giving lions three only felt fair if I was to do it to tigers, here we have the more typical African lion from the southeast of the continent as well as the Extinct in the Wild (allegedly, some say it doesn't exist at all) Barbary which has a very large distinct mane and finally the Asiatic to round it out).
Leopard: Amur, Persian, Sri Lankan (Yea no African, they aren't kept in zoos, included these three because they all represent different biomes and are decently common - Amur for cold snowy regions, Persian for more arid mountains, and Sri Lankan is tropical).
Takin: Sichuan, Mishmi, Golden (Sichuan is what we have now, Mishmi is much browner while Golden is self-explanatory. All look unique and might even be seperate species according to some. Many people have a strong preference with the Takin in particular so makes sense to include all three (Yes I know there is a fourth but nobody cares)).

Also just make the Asian Black Bear generic, I don't really think there is justification for keeping the Formosan and adding a second subspecies when we already have other small black bears in Asia. Same with the chimp, the Western is the most common but considering the others are also around in some capacity, probably best to just make it generic. Also giraffes are a mess so decided not to include them but if Frontier wants to go with the outdated one species taxonomy then yea they should have subspecies options too.

Ok now to talk about breeds, I think with domestics there is enough variety and potential interest that the domestics we have in game could all have three seperate breeds, barring the camelids and the dingo if that counts. Here's my choices:

Donkey: Standard, Mediterranean Minature, Poitou (The Standard is what we have now (the "American" part is unnecessary), the Med Miniature is also a very common sight in petting zoos and gives us a smaller option, the Poitou has its unique shaggy fur which give it a distinct look).
Pig: Vietnamese Pot-Belly, Kune-Kune, Miniature (The Pot-Belly and Kune-Kune are the archetypal petting zoo pig breeds and both look completely different from each other so they are obvious picks, decided to replace the Tamworth with a miniature pig to give a smaller size option that looks more generic plus "micropigs" were quite popular).
Cattle: Highland, Ankole-Watusi, Dwarf Zebu (The Highland was a brilliant pick and probably the most iconic breed of cattle, the Ankole is also a shoe-in as it can also be used in mixed savanna habitats and finally a type of zebu to round it out makes sense (Note: I do know some consider the Zebu a seperate species to taurine cattle, if this is the case then perhaps replace with another small breed like the Dahomey).
Goat: West African Dwarf, Valais Black-Neck, Boer (The West African Dwarf is an absolute necessity, it is the THE zoo goat, I also replaced the Alpine with the Valais Black-Neck as it gives us a shaggier option for a mountain breed with a unique piebald colouration. Finally I rounded out with the Boer, a sort of middle ground between the other two with floppy ears.
Sheep: Ouessant, Cameroon, Jacob (The Ouessant is to replace the Hill Radnor, they are pretty similar breeds though the Ouessant is way more common, the Cameroon is the most common domestic sheep in zoos and pairs well with the Dwarf Goat while also having a unique colouration. Rounded out by the Jacob, a primitive breed with impressive horns... Technically this could also be replaced by the European Mouflon as that isn't its own species but a very primitive sheep breed however I don't know how people would feel about that since it has basically become a wild animal once more in reality.
Chicken: Brahma, Silkie, White-Crested (The Brahma is the archetypal chicken breed with a wide variety of colours, it basically replaces the Sussex here. The Silkie is an iconic breed with wildly different feathering and finally the White-Crested is a mostly typical chicken with some fancy white-feathers on its head).

I have attached an image with pictures of all the breeds in case people were curious!
