Game in a Game (Back at Trevithick)

Based in Sothis, most of my ships are there. I decided to fly around in a Cobra because I'm testing the VR and Hotas/Voice Attack and don't want to to it with a Corvette. Everything is going great, but I decide to test the wall smashing bit after learning just how well I can control the ship in VR vs a monitor. Rebuy screen shows up, I select the Sidey in Trevithick because, why not? Why not work my way back to Sothis? I could easily buy the modules needed to get there a couple stations over, but no. I'm going to earn the money to buy the modules I need to get back to Sothis. I have an engineered DBx over in Founder's World that gets almost 50LY a jump, so it would be easier to use that station as a goal instead of Sothis, but I want to use Sothis. (truth be told if you can get to one you can get to the other).

This process got me thinking (dangerous activity) that a punishment for a really bad karma event could be to strand you at that dock and not allow you to access your funds until you get back to where you were, or to another dock several hundred LY away. SO you cannot use your Cr to buy your way out of it, and you cannot have a ship transferred to you. You cannot access stored modules or anything else. You just have to earn enough to make that trek. Once you get there, you can unlock your bank account by paying a fine and you're back in business.

I know some here have reset their accounts back to zero, but I am not that committed to grinding. I just wanted a challenge that didn't include a scripted mission. I can figure out on my own how to get to where I need to be, do I spend that time doing those jumps and scooping or do I work a little more and buy a better ship with longer range and a better scoop?

Adding grind isn't really an improvement, but if the grind is self induced through actions you knew you were undertaking, it's probably not that much different than needing to grind for rank. Being away from your crew or your base of operations, broke, could create some interesting game play though.

Thoughts?

We'll see.

So that didn't take as long as I thought it would. Just a few missions and some bloodlust and I was in a Cobra headed back to the land of the free and home of the Federation Unite!

After resetting my account sometime in may I was finding myself in an a rated fer de lance 2 weeks later with casually playing 1-2 hours every day.
The game basically shoves cash down your throat and yet players still complain they can't make any money.

Nice idea about the earning your way back part. Something like this would make the gameplay more engaging and be an actual consequence players have to take into account before making their decisions wether or not to engage another unwanted player as an example.
That would make elite dangerous again and we can't have that, can we?
