Game feels unfinished?
Newsflash!! it is unfinished, and it will still be unfinished even when it releases unfortunately,
Yeah, maybe it should be finished now, Gammas are suppose to be the finished game just with more bugs, and maybe we have a right to complain that its not finished, but the simple fact is its not finished and frontier have admitted it still wont be finished even when it releases.
But for whatever reason, they have had to draw a line and had to get it out the door. Right or wrong, or maybe without much choice.
This game is even bigger and more complex than even they imagined I guess. Its not easy to make something new, invent something from scratch thats never been done before, push the boundaries and get it to work first time and on time. You cant predict how long it will take to do something thats never been done before.
Theres no game ever in history been made to this scale and scope before.
But every single stage has added something new to the table and made it less unfinished and less boring. And we are still going through that process.
People have been complaining it felt unfinished and boring since the beta and back then it was even more unfinished and boring, but every stage since then has added a new piece of the puzzle... and it will continue to even after release. I bet theres people who complained back then who are kind of thinking now they jumped the gun a bit.
Personally I dont find it boring because I like what we have and I can picture what is still to come.
We just have to have patience that eventually it will be finished and then it will stop feeling unfinished.
Alot of what made the last elites so interesting is still not fully implemented in this game, and theres even plans to take what the other elites did and expand on it. Just like every Elite did to the previous elite. But until then we have to make do with what we got or wait some more.
But saying that, Elite is what you make of it. You make the story, so if its boring because in your story you traded from A to B for 1,000 hours solid just to get an expensive ship then yes, no movie director will be queing up to make a movie of your life because it would be mind numbingly boring.
Trust me, when this game is finished, whenever that day may be, you will consider it one of the best games you ever played. You will tell your grandchildren about it, 'why cant they make games like that anymore'.. thats if its finished by then
