Game just got way more interesting...

Just a day or so after managing to get a permit to Sol somehow I managed to get the Feds offside to the point where my status became hostile, and it quickly became apparent that there was little to nothing I could do to reverse it. At first I was a little annoyed, considering I'm really not sure how I managed to go from hero to zero in Feds eyes so quickly (possibly for being caught with stolen loot one too many times perhaps). But soon after I started to enjoy the fact that Feds would swarm me on sight, and that now I had nothing to lose by shooting them down. The game has swiftly become way more interesting to me now that it has in fact become 'dangerous'. I have to stay on my toes whenever I'm in Fed space now and the game is now a lot more action packed. Prior to this there were times I had to go out of my way to find action. Not any more.

Game is a lot more fun when a large % of the galaxy wants you dead 100% of the time. I highly recommend making an all-out enemy of a faction.

I suppose I should also take this moment to issue a warning to any Fed aligned CMDRs. Come near me, and I'm shooting first and asking questions later. Call it griefing if you want, but the fact of the matter is that the Feds are now my mortal enemies, and I do not discriminate, CMDRs or NPCs.

The Federation is the best government in the galaxy. If I see you, I will fight you to the death.
I'm near chimba if you are looking for a fight. Hope to see you there hahahaha :D

What changed the game for me was watching Firefly, now picking up scraps and cargo marked as stolen its just too fun!!

Firefly is the best show ever. No contest.

Karma will get the executives the canned it, not to mention the ones that played it in the wrong order.

There's a special place in hell reserved for those guys. right next to child molesters, and people who talk in the theater...

Z...

I hope more of this makes it into the game. Including finds that are extremely rare, extremely profitable scrap/cargo.

wait... this implies... and therefore I infer from your statement, that you HAD NOT seen it BEFORE playing this game? SHAME SHAME!!! sic em TexasStu...

Best. Show. Ever.

Agreed, with both of you!

To the OP, yes, agreed... and impo, the Feds are the absolute best to have on your butt as well.... they are perfectly sandwiched between my favored faction: the Empire, and my favored trade destination in the Old Worlds of the Alliance.

Yeah....... federation forever, anyone who is an enemy of the federation is an enemy to me..............................LONG LIVE THE FEDARATION!

Good to read this post.
Also, yes, there is a lot of the ethos of can't stop the signal, or take the sky from me, in ED. :)

Y...yes, I watched All the episodes + Serenity in a 2 day marathon that ended last night.

It was the best/worst thing Ive ever done.

Now I just want more =(

(also I kind of want to be wanted by the alliance forever now)

I beg to differ on the 'best government' thing. I was starting to hate those nosy bastiches before I turned hostile. Now I'm embracing my hatred of the Feds. I welcome your invite for a fight to the death. Keep an eye out for CMDR Yakass (thats me - whats your CMDR name?). You'll find me scooting about in a nasty 'lil Cobra.

I'll be sure to save some ammo for you :)

And yes, Firefly is awesome!

Yes, this.

I've been semi-roleplaying as a smuggler/pirate/looter, avoiding the Law as much as possible, only shooting Wanted targets, and scooping cargo whenever I can, but only if the Law can't see me. Going to experiment with silent running and heatsinks so I can try to scoop stuff that falls out of Wanted ships as they explode/fall apart at Nav Beacons. Watched 16 tons of palladium drift away the other day, with fed ships just cruising all around me... Wasn't worth the negative attention at the time, but sure would make my day to scoop those cans right out from under the fed's noses.

Sadly the two season was all they were able to make because of Fox :/
There are a couple of great comics by Darkhorse if youd care to read them.

Firefly is why I wanted to make my money smuggling and staying off the radar, defying Federation at every step (I think Feds are more Alliance than Alliance) also why I prefer a Universe with no aliens.

This is my favorite part of the whole post.

What the Feds are really scared of:

Join the Alliance!

Babylon 5. I win.

FD should hire Claudia Christan as the voice of traffic control at the stations.....

No more NPC type 9s jamming themselves in the slot just after you've been given clearance to leave.....

Returning to the subject... the game got a lot more interesting for me when I picked up a routine "get the black box" mission, and I'm lurking around the target system, drop
out of SC and its a single cobra III... ut uh I go, time to run away... nope, I get the message regarding its a rival faction who'll pay me more for the black box.
Win win
