Is anyone else having crashing issues after latest Windows update? It's been crashing all morning for me, doesn't even load the intro screen and the only thing that changed on my PC that I can think off was a Windows update. I've re-validated files both from the launcher and Steam, no joy. All other ED versions from ED launcher also crash.

Does this crashing involve the game freezing when loading planet generation in the initial loading/warming phase? I've been getting this where my entire PC freezes up and I need to reach for the power button.
It's not bothering me too much since I've been drifting to other games recently, but I tried to give Elite a go tonight and it still wasn't working.

No, there was no image appearing, just black window and crash. But I've uninstalled some of the Window Updates until I found the culprit, a software called Asus Sonic Driver was installed and default sound device changed to this driver, although I changed to my Realtek sound, it was still crashing (maybe ED kept trying to use it and didn't detect the change of default sound device) so after uninstalling that software, ED started working again.
reinstall or roll back on your GPU drivers.
Happening to a lot of Commanders, including me.
You can search through this tread and see, many Commanders have posted so that means there are many more who have not bothered saying anything.
