Game keeps randomly minimizing/Crashing.

Just started playing again and the game randomly minimizes and crashes. It happens about 3-5 times in an hour. This did not happen about 3 mo ago. Game is unplayable for me. And i see others are having the same problem as well. Tried some of the fixes they suggested no luck. Not gonna try the fixes that involve my registry shouldn't have to do that. This is the only game this happens in and it didn't happen before same PC. Love the game. Hope someone can help me.

-64-bit OS, x64-based processor
-Running to Monitors
-win 8.1

FIXES I TRIED:

-Changing from border less to full screen
-Updating my Graphics Card software and drivers
-uninstalling the game and reinstalling it
-not having any web page open while playing
-lowering my graphic settings in game even tho the game suggests higher settings
-launching the game from my Graphics card interface.

Virus or malware?
I had a nasty bug that kept changing the focus on windows...
I also had AVG too which was also doing it. Took a full system wipe to clear it.
But as yours is only happening in ED it may not be the case.

Check the windows notification area settings as I have heard of that minimising the game. I would try rolling back your graphics driver too as a few of the recent ones have caused the driver to reset sometimes for me. Any useful bits in the event logs?

Personally I would just reinstall Windows as that is usually quicker than finding the problem but then not everyone is tooled up for quick wipes like I am

What if any error message do you get when the game crashes?

Is there anything in the event log, in administration tools?

Whack this into the Support/Tech forum or log a support ticket.

Virus/malware scans.

Graphics drivers.

Do you have other apps running in the background that are updating and becoming active that might force elite to minimize?
