Game mode Clarification

I have a question about the Open World and solo game modes.

I started off in solo mode, to get the feel of the game. Once I thought I got it I switched to Open world.

I quickly realized that in my sidewinder I was a total Induction target and everyone had cobras + so I switched back to Solo mode to make money and get a better ship before I pvp.

I'm still being jumped by Real players in solo mode.

So, I guess my question is Are you stuck in open world for a character once you make that choice?

Also is it possible to have 2 Characters on one account? I don't want to delete my current one but if I cant go back to solo mode I'm prolly gonna start over.

Solo should put you into an instance without other players.

'Real' players are hollow on your scanner. Either you've confused AI players with real ones, or you didn't select solo when you started the game.

If you are in solo and see hollow contacts on the scanner then it's a pretty serious bug nobody has seen before, so video it and report it.

It's not possible to be 'jumped by real players' in solo mode - these are NPC players - real players are hollow on your scanner & have CMDR at the start of their name tag.

No, you're not stuck in open -you can switch any time between each mode. Open play can be a bit intimidating for 'rookie' players, as some players can use them as target practice.

No, you can only have one character in your account
