In-Development Game not starting headtracking when FreePIE is running.

I'm trying to build my own headtracking solution with and arduino. Currently i'm receiving the sensor data on a serial port in FreePIE and writing the yaw, pitch and roll to freetrack.

The problem is that Elite doesn't recognize the tracking data. The only way I've gotten it to work is to start opentrack, start Elite, stop opentrack and finally start the FreePIE script.

Does anyone here have any idea how the game knows when to read the data from freetrack?

Is there any way to force the game into using freetrack instead of having it detect it automatically?
