I came across this issue after the most recent updates of Horizons.
I would get a black screen and that would be it.
I went looking around here for soemthing similar and found 1 possible.
All I did was make the client executable 'run as administrator' and then for some reason I went and looked at the logs.
I found out that 2 of the log files were corrupt/incomplete compared to the others. I deleted them and then verified the game files.
I also stopped the AMD graphics software from bringing up overlays for recording.
Started the game up again and it worked. I'm wondering if the corrupt log files had stopped the client from starting?
I won't know. Check your log files just in case is what I say.
