Newcomer / Intro GAME PLAY MODE

Hi Everyone

I am now finally at the stage where I have most things working. Done the training modules and decided I am ready to try open play and see what happens. Strange thing happened though... started in the space station, undocked and then went for a drink, so paused the game in a safe-ish place. However, once I enter pause mode the screen then gives you the current game mode at the bottom and it says "solo". I didn't choose solo play, so why am I in it?? Anyone heard of this?? thanks

It will show that until you jumped or entered Supercruise and are then put in an Instance with other players, if there are any you are matched to, at least that's what I read anyway.

Unless in a starting system that still has a lot of players or in a more popular system you still may not see many players even in open.

On a side note, as this is an online multiplayer game, there is no pause. I don't understand why the option is labelled as that, but all it does is bring up the menu, it doesn't actually pause the game.

This is true, the only time you can really get up and get a drink is when you are docked... Ill go to a few places and systems and see what happens then.

On my first day I was fiddling with controls and got stuck in reverse. While I was restting my bindings to fix it I was blown out of the sky, just that quick.
