Game saved, hallelujah.

So happy to return to ED after quitting due to the game becoming meaningless. Elite Totally Not At All Remotely Dangerous.

Now when I load up the T6 with Narcotics and plot a course, I get actual anticipation, emotional feedback, I am engaged, I am HAN SOLO.

I now get more of a sense of risk, of daring do, of I am in space a lawless frontier, then I did previously when I just meander my way to the nearest Hi Res to casually blast my way to a zillion credits maybe scratching the paint a bit once in awhile.

I am not hot jock, my combat rank is competent.

Since the returning I have lost 50% of my net worth, which is fine, I did not feel I deserved or had earned that money.

Not like now, those credits mean something, they are hard earnt, mine.

This game is now so much more satisfying than it was previously.

Game is saved.

yes the sense of achievement of delivery missions is actually quite high, now if they could just make up their damned minds where they want the sodding things. Imagine if Postie got a text saying, Oh by the way can you deliver it to the next County instead....lol.

Great post CMDR! :)[up]

For some reason I had more fun in the few hours play over the weekend, than in the last year.

It feels like a new game - I have reasons to do more things now than before. Feels more "Dangerous" without being arbitary (I get to run away, or nest between the Security Forces vessels).

How much of this is due to the excitement of the new remains to be seen.

heh, I need to make a run back to Bellersuk to move a couple of my ships. I don't recall exactly how, but I'm wanted there. I'm going to go through a couple of haulers I think. :) I'm far enough away right now where the bounty hunters have left me alone for a few nights.

Time to smuggle myself it seems.

And, just to be clear, this is exactly how it should be working. I did something wrong and got wanted (I'm sure it involves shooting someone(s) that I shouldn't have had...) so I shouldn't be able to just wander around in that space expecting to be left alone. My bounty is dormant right now, but this is like the 3rd time that it has been since 2.1 dropped. It gets reactivated at the most inopportune moments.

This should be fun. :)

Yea, its great that I feel more nervous about a 40Lyr trade run than I did before flying into an area deemed one of the most dangerous in the galaxy.

Thats more telling about the Hi Res zones than the trade run btw.

Agreed, love the AI. I also think the mod mechanics mean the game is more than just a race for credits now which IMHO was making it very one-dimensional.

This. I haven't made hardly any money the past few days, but I've been making great progress on material collecting.

Or by when..
I had an over 4 day limit on a mission last night but once I jumped they decided they needed it back in 3 minutes... Coming in screaming hot to a highish G planet for the delivery was 'fun' and a tad bouncy, delivered on time though.

To be fair things are a lot more dynamic and interesting and there is certainly more risk involved. Perhaps being a bit more conservative on those time limit reductions though?
