Game Screen Minimizes, cannot get past Main Menu

Recently i've started having issues playing Elite Dangerous (Odyssey)-the main problem being that I cannot actually get past the main menu. Here's the gist of what I'm seeing and what I've done.

My version of the game is running on Steam.
The game is up-to-date, my PC is up-to-date.

I click Play from the Steam menu. When I do, the game opens like normal. However there is a slight difference now in the way it opens (compared to open and immediately selecting start).

It opens on my screen, however when I 'click' on the game window it automatically minimizes it. I cannot get my computer to stay the game 'window'.

A few older forum posts on steam, reddit, and here all reference closing down programs that allow you to share your screen or just software that I don't have installed (epson printers running a background updater, Zoom, Microsoft teams, etc). I'd also been given the tip that some of these programs steal the 'focus' of the computer.

To try and alleviate the issue:

->I've uninstalled Microsoft teams (which I had installed up until recently)
->Updated my computers devices (each item, through the device manager)
->Updated Windows
->Run a diskclean up (not that this would help, but thought it prudent to do)
->Turned off focus assist on Windows 10
->Verfied my game files
->Restarted the computer

I also tried stopping a couple startup programs from coming on as soon as I'm logged in:
->Steelseries control panel
->Skype

So far, nothing seems to work and I'm not entirely sure where I'm going wrong. Something tells me this is a Windows issue and not a Frontier issue-but i would really like to play the game some time.

Try this:

1. Navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous
2. Make a copy of the Options folder somewhere
3. Delete the Options folder
4. Run the game

See if that helps.

This did fix the problem, thank you so much!!
Now you can start copying back folders from inside options one by one from the backup to restore your bindings etc.
Copy an old folder back, run the game, see if the problem reappears, close the game, copy another folder back in etc.

That way you'll also know what's caused the issue. (Get rid of the problematic folde. I assume its corrupted graphic settings).

A bit late, but I fixed this problem by hitting Alt+Enter (shrinks the game window to a bordered desktop window similar to the VR window) when the game window minimised. It took a few goes, but it worked.
