game so slow its stupid

server status says its ok, my internet is ok, why cant i play the game? why dose it take 30mins for me to engineer something , just because the lag??? more artificial time sinks i guess, oh yes this is just game play nvm

i only get to play 2 hours a night and thanks to this mystery lag i wasted 1 hour and 50 mins of my time trying to fix/live with it , and the last 10 mins? makeing this pointless forum post because i know either 2 things will happen
1 people will crap on me and say the game is perfect or 2 this thread will turn into a pvp vs pve thread, at this point i dont even know why im typeing ,

That sounds like you have a problem with your internet. Have you considered running a better shield on your computer and engineering its thrusters?

If you watched videos or streams of other people playing you'd know this game has massive time-sinks. Things will be a bit quicker to do after the Beyond Chapter One update though.

Was this in open or solo, did you try relogging, where are you in relation to the server.

Not trying to be an ahat, but I wil say that for me open somtimes plays like im moving trough cement, and I have 100/100 internet, might well have the bog standard router and know next to nothing about ports and this and that, but solo the game works like a dream but even then I do have instanceing problems from time to time.

Drop a note to surport they are very good, and no Im no fanboi white knight the guys and girls there are very good.

The only other thing off the top of my head, or at least what I would try is verfiy files if your on steam and I think there is a way to do that from the ED launcher, past that Im out, good luck, and not to sound like a broken recored, post in the tec surport and make a ticket..I was out of the game for about 2 months due to some setting I had to do with the /cmd window due to some thing FD did to the game and my router not being able to understand somthing. Sorry again im not really network savy.

I occasionally get very slow transitions between the in-game menus: outfitting, engineers etc.

It doesn't seem to reflect on my other internet connections and not always on the game running itself i.e. frame shift/fsd transitions etc.

Sometimes, biowaste, it just happens.

Why does it take you 30 minutes to enginner something. Takes me seconds. Could it be an issue with your HD. It still could be internet issues between you and FDev servers. There are a number of things that can go wrong that is not in your or FDevs control.

I was on last night from my hotel in Cabo Verde using my Surface Book and was just thinking how much faster the game runs these days. I was going to post asking what improvements had been made but saw this thread.

Yeah 2 down 1/2 up was my last connection (satellite) but now i've moved up in the world to dedicated tower 4G LTE wi-fi (not cell phone). Options here in the middle of nowhere are not widely varied and speed + no data cap costs BIG bucks so I go a bit slower than the rest of humanity.

And nobody offers a copper pipe or fiber in these parts either for anything. If it doesn't come from outer space or through the air I can't get it.

But I can play the game quite fine. I see and talk and interact with other Commanders quite fine and it doesn't take 30 minutes to engineer anything either unless I am doing like 30 rolls.

You should at least try to put a little effort in your post.

I don't really get what the problem is.
Are you whining about a technical problem?
Or don't you like the way the game plays?

If you haven't raised a tech ticket, then do so. They will analyze and advise where the problem may be.

I run on a potato laptop and had port, firewall, and router config issues that they help resolve.

However, they couldn't fix my slow HD, GPU and CPU. So I live with delays on opening up UI and low graphic settings.

If your talking about the grind related to engineering modules, then that's a separate topic which the upcoming beta might she'd light on how better or worse it'll be.

I’ve has this weird lag in the past also. Menus take an age to change. Descending to the surface of a planet was like watching someone’s vacation slides of doing so. It wasn’t every time I played and that was really confusing, I thought it might have been server maintenance, and then I thought it was one of my SLI’d GPUs failing. Actually removing one of my GPUs did solve it as I recall.

Sorry OP, don’t know if this helps but you’re definitely not going insane.
