game so slow its stupid

Just a thought...... (assuming your computer isn't a turd) are you using Wifi or are you hard wired?

I have NEVER EVER EVER had ANY of the issues people complain about with connection or load times. But my network has always been hard wired and properly confifured.

I HAVE seen theses issues with friends though. Friends on wifi. When they hard wired the issues IMMEDIATELY ceased.

So......If your computer isnt a turd and you are hard wired and properly configured i cant help you. But if you use wife you need to SERIOUSLY consider that wifi is the culprit. I could spend 4 paragraphs explaining why wifi is NEVER ok for online gaming. BUT, if you are the kind of person who thinks it is ok.....and use the arguements "my wifi is fine, i dont have problems on other games or my speed test says things are ok" then you are beyond help and no amount of info i provide can change that.

oh gee a problem with my internet, i wonder why i didn't think of that, *sarcasm Levels overload*
Yes, because occasionally the Internet buggers up, people don't set up their routers properly, ISP's lower service quality, users are downloading 74 Torrents and watching NetFlix at the same time or some other third party idiocy that isn't Frontiers fault.

Seeing as people do play this game without issue on public Wifi on a train, then maybe you or your gear are the issue.

Take some responsibility for your own equipment and PROVE it isn't the issue before whining the game is broken.

server status says its ok, my internet is ok, why cant i play the game? why dose it take 30mins for me to engineer something , just because the lag??? more artificial time sinks i guess, oh yes this is just game play nvm

i only get to play 2 hours a night and thanks to this mystery lag i wasted 1 hour and 50 mins of my time trying to fix/live with it , and the last 10 mins? makeing this pointless forum post because i know either 2 things will happen
1 people will crap on me and say the game is perfect or 2 this thread will turn into a pvp vs pve thread, at this point i dont even know why im typeing ,

good night

Hey man, sorry you had such a bad experience.

I feel where you are coming from - I typically only get two, two hour multiplayer matches a week with my friends, and when something goes wrong it stinks!

Just this last Wednesday Night during our livestream, Elite on my XBX locked up three times, and then I spawned in my SRV with the camera too high. Ugh. Funny, the crashing had never happened previously on my xbx.

Here's the replay of me spawning into my SRV with the camera too high: https://youtu.be/3mAJL-a04s8?t=1h14m30s

But, most of the time everything works so that makes up for it.

I'd also like to share that I have played Elite on an i3 over the 3g hotspot on my phone in solo and it ran pretty good, so it might just have been a bad night?

that was a joke , please stop making me want to swear at you

in solo, and its the same thing in open

Maybe try rebooting your router as well as your PC. Sometimes things go haywire and a full reboot will fix it.

Also... When you are having problems, best to stick to SOLO because it tends to be more stable than the Open mode. Also, use Ethernet only for your connection. Wi-Fi is a terrible choice for online gaming. (Too many packets lost)

I've been logged on to the game for the last 5 hours on the same instance using a "wired" connection and have not had any issues at all, so this is definitely something local to your system or ISP.

OP when you mean "30 minutes" to engineer something, do you mean you're waiting on the rolls outcomes? You can speed that up just by clicking anywhere on the hud screen while it's rolling.

If no one else is having the same issue then it's 100% garunteed that the issue is your end.FACT

You say it is not your internet speed so i presume you did a speed test on your internet provider when the issue occured using some thing like this http://www.speedtest.net/

If you are getting what you are supposed to get and of course you called your provider to clarify there were no issues when you were on, then you most likely have something running in the background on your Computer. And if you use wifi modems and others are in the same household using the internet , that aswell can cause lag.

Best to try solve the issue first than incorrectly blame FD first.

I play on wired and wifi on pc. Machines are I7 with gtx760/970m/1080. On wifi get odd disconnect on a 970m, the desktop rock solid - no real delays anywhere. I play mostly solo.. Initially I had tons of problems and I traced it to my provider. Most people are interested in download speed, in a game like ED upload is also very important, particularly if you play in open. Check the difference between solo and open. Also check your provide T&C's carefully, mine throttles the upstream and it killed ED. I had to upgrade to their best package to guarantee enough upstream, once I did that its been okay.

The only thing I've noticed as being excessively slow in recent weeks in the mission board. It's taking about 20-30 seconds load time, every time, for me.

Started happening right around Christmas, and hasn't improved since. Don't have any issues transitioning from one instance to another, logging in or accessing any other menu or function. The only thing impacted is the mission board.

It's either internet or hardware related. Have you checked the load on your PC while you are playing it? Maybe your packets to and from ED servers are having trouble in route. It's unfortunate that you have to keep reading things you don't want to read but as far as I can tell it's not on Frontier's end.

Your obviously (understatement?) frustrated. But you should make yourself clear. If your just blowing off steam, then have at it. IF your asking for help, be clear and can some of that anger. Your choice ....

Never happened to me in over two years of playing so yes it's clearly something to do with the game and couldn't possibly be anything to do with your hardware or internet connection, the very though is completely preposterous and the only people who would suggest such a thing are imbeciles.

Yes, that's a joke.

Don't waste a minute of your spare time replying.
