Game (steam version) won't launch with OpenComposite active?

Hi all,

Update: issue resolved by installing Visual C++ Redistributable

Quest 2 / VirtualDesktop user. The game works perfectly fine on SteamVR, but in an effort to boost performance and visual clarity I have downloaded and enabled OpenComposite. However, when I start the game with OC enabled, it immediately throws this as soon as opening the game window in pancake.

The OpenComposite logs are empty, so I have a feeling the issue lies elsewhere. Important to note that I am using a Cloud PC with Nvida A10G, but am on the latest drivers and SteamVR seems to work just fine... Any thoughts?

The problem is that the game doesn't even start with opencomposite switched on. It just bails on the error screen shared above.

Could it be the version of OC that you are using? Although I don’t use it with Elite, I’ve had startup crashes in the past with iL-2, Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR which were solved by downgrading OC to a previous version.

Also check what your OpenXR runtime is set to.

Yeah I have that installed. The moment I switch to opencomposite though the game refuses to launch and exits with the error I showed earlier.

Where can I see what my OpenXR runtime is set to? In steam it's set to VirtualDesktopXR. Just for s and giggles I thought I'd install OpenComposite and ED on my laptop to see if I could make it work, and lo and behold it works...

Could it be that opencomposite is incompatible with windows server?

Did you get this sorted out? I'm having the same issue.
