This meme has been floating around. I just realized, Frontier has all the pieces in place to put the real game together. You have the park builder games already. More specifically, the specific genre and name Jurassic World Evolution. Now you have the FPS in computer generated bases in Elite Dangerous Odyssey. It wouldn't be starting from scratch if you let the player do the work of generating the bases. When complete, or at an arbitrary threshold of completeness, move to FPS mode. Just a one-way change. They can't leave FPS mode to build more on the park. In FPS mode, have some randomized critical failures with gates, walls, or whatever. Make structures immutable, but let doors and some walls be destroyed by the animals and explosive weapons. Windows destroyable by animals, explosives, guns and melee weapons.
I'm not really big into park builder games, but I would play the hell out of a game like that.
Of course, as a programmer, I know it'd be almost impossible to mesh both games together. Even if you took the final park, exported it, and imported it into the FPS environment, there would be a ton of work to do. It'd be a whole new project, only using some assets from the others. But at least you already have experience with both already.
