From scratching the surface It seems the stability of this game with crashes is somewhat common. Trying to determine if this game is worth investing time which is sad because I've played enough now to really like it but here's where I'm at.
I had just purchased the Adder and about 300k of upgrades.
After accepting a bounty mission to Sharur I flew to Sharur A and the closest port and refuelled and then went searching for raven ships. I ended up overloading my power system (Yep I'm a noob) and lost shields and got shot down by the pirate I was after.
After that the game asked which ship I wanted to relaunch with and how much credits it would cost to return my upgrade items. I paid the 17k credits and it said I was returned to Sharur port. The screen went to the load screen with the 3d model of my ship rotating then went black and crashed to Windows and brought up the Crash reporter. I attached the images of where the game crashes and what crash reporter appears at windows.
I can now no longer load any game mode "solo", "private Group" or "open" without this happening. You select the mode it shows the 3d model loading and then crashes. I've clean wiped and updated my video drivers, disabled any unnecessary programs running and overlays, uninstalled Elite Dangerous and reinstalled, Tried loading the Elite Dangerous without the Horizons options, restarted my computer numerous times, Cleared the temp folder. Reloaded the graphics GPU file in the game folder, Lowered the graphics settings, stood on my head, prayed to the gaming gods.
I have 3 other friends who started playing about the same time I did and all had the same problem. Different computers, different hardware setups (all with enough power to run the game), different ISP, etc. They all died near the Sharur port got asked about their ship being recovered, payed the fine and then the game started crashing on every load. The only work around for them was going in and clearing the save point and starting from scratch, losing their ships and all the credits they worked for.
I sent a detailed report to Frontier so I guess I'll see what comes of that, but I'm sure not interested in playing a game that can crash and not have a fix solution other than wiping all my progress.
Running desktop PC
Windows 10 Pro 64bit, build 19041 vb release. 191206-1406
Intel i5-8500, 3.00 GHz cpu
16Gb ram
Radeon RX580 graphics
Any help appreciated.
