Game wont update?

So I downloaded a new installer and clicked the upgrade button. Works fine right up until literally the last pixel of the progress bar. Whereupon nothing happens. I got Sync files, 0.00mb/s download speed and currently 2 days estimated download time left with the progress bar pretty much completely filled. It never actually gets to the end meaning I cant launch the game. This is upgrading the base game not beta.

I've cancelled and restarted with the same result.

Well finally but now beta is downloading at half a meg a second. 7 hours to go. Seriously?? Feels like I am dialup here...

Use Steam.

It's so much faster than from FD's servers... i.e. hundreds of times faster.

Probably depends on where you are, i.e. which way your ISP is wired up. I got the beta DL'ed from FD at (slightly above) my maximum paid for speed (50 Mbit/s).

Well, I was going to say try the Alternative Download method from the installer/Options but that's not there now.

The Multi-Threaded Download option looks new, though.

Downloading directly via the FD launcher maxes out my fibre connection. Can't get any faster than that.

That's been there a long time - I spotted it at least a year ago when I was having issues and going through all the menu options.
