I've been using a Xeox gamepad for a while now, a clone of the Xbox controller. It's comfortable enough and I like the setup, even if I currently lose horizontal lateral thrust, but I'm very aware that this pad has some serious sensitivity problems (it's almost binary and very hard to make a precision motion). It's not a deadzone thing, more a case of going from 0 to full lock in a quarter of the stick's motion, which is a pest, particularly with fixed guns. I realise a good joystick is the only real way to go for precision control, but as I've recently taken to standing up when I play (sitting at work all day means that when I do play, it's surprisingly nice to not be sat), the gamepad is a lot more practical and freeing.
So, the question is, for anyone else using a gamepad, is there one where you can still get some fine control, or one where you can adjust the response to the sticks so that you don't hit full lock until you really want it, and maybe gain a couple more trigger buttons so I can recover full lateral thrust?
