Worth saying before anything else that I really enjoy this game, and I understand that the attention has been in making beautiful dinosaurs and environment. There have been some things I’ve noticed that I hope will be fixed in time, and I wanted to feedback if possible and this seems the best place. I don’t want these to come across as complaints - just opportunities to improve!
1. Raptors/carnivores. Why don’t they hunt and travel as a pack, and why do they literally slaughter every herbivore in the enclosure until there are none left, even when they aren’t hungry, have 100% health and comfort?
2. Dinosaur fight outcomes. Why do they almost always fight to the death? If you want to build mixed enclosures, surely it would be better for animals to back away or take an approach of wanting to keep themselves alive. E.g ceratosaurus will stay in a fight with ankylosaur until it’s dead.
3. Terrain tools. I think most people agree that what we have is beautiful but very simple. The option for deeper water and rivers, different types of trees (e.g sequoia, pine forest like in the T REX paddock and lost world, rocky river beds, harder cliff edges etc).
4. Fights and fight animations. Feel incredibly slow and static (with the exception of raptor vs. Dilophosaurus). I feel like herbivores should want to band together and bellow to ward of predators, not one on one.
5. Controls. It’s very awkward to go to the building you need in order to sedate, move, heal, medicate dinosaurs. Would make much more sense and be much easier to have these options on the dinosaurs themselves.
6. Dinosaur lifespan. Maybe I’m just playing too much (!) but dinosaurs do seem to die far too quickly. Particular where space is a premium and I want to move dinosaurs from enclosures, the more quickly they die the more this becomes a really exhausting chore.
7. Isla Nublar is honestly my biggest dissappointment. Maybe the hype was too much, but I was expecting the opportunity to build a giant, film accurate island. The final part of the story where we have to rebuild the island after then events of Jurassic world. Find the old ruins in the jungle. Have giant valleys with mountains on either side. Be able to build the original helicopter platform in the waterfall ravine and the brachiosaurus paddock/lagoon. Go to the north of the island past the mountains and rebuild the indominus paddock, or the bird cage. Having effectively a giant empty square with mountains on all sides feels like looking at one very small part of the much larger island.
i hope this is well received. Generally I think you’ve done an awesome job. I would just say that nublar in particular needs a somewhat major rethink/upgrade. I believe the whole community would love to see the time taken to get it right - and I think everyone is happy to be space limited for the 5 deaths if when it comes to nublar, they’re building on something that really does look like it’s on the films.
