Gameplay gripes after 48 hours.

* When I'm docked on the outside of a space station, why does the ship still have to be turned round 180 before launch? Why would it matter?

* After docking, the action select cursor is randomly on "Starport Services" or "Launch". It should be consistent.

* Re: the above, how about an "abort launch" option?

* The columns in the trading screen should be sortable.

* The trade data imported to/exported from column should be in addition to the galactic price column.

* Why can I not use and compare the price information from the last station I was at?

* There should be a price difference column i.e. galactic price - buy price so one can quickly see the likely average profit.

* The too/from hanger animations are all well and good, but a bit tedious after repeat #50. Option to skip, please?

* The trade routes display on the galactic map is flimsy. A route will appear and disappear as you rotate the map.

* Have the map toolbox tuck in to the left when not in use so there's more real estate for the map itself?

These are all excellent points.
Except the to/from hangar and rotate animation. They have to stay for reality's sake. And I still like them after five months. :p

I use the launch turning time to look at my transactions, figure out where I need to go and lock in a destination. And I agree with Kry above, they should stay - I like the immersion (especially if I'm using a Rift. Quite often just watch the world go past...)

Everything else on OP's list, yep :)

+1 to all

I'd also add that the docking bay you are to dock at should be more prominent. A lot of them time the numbers vanish for no reason and I have no way to tell where bay number X is.

It IS a bug, yes. And it will be resolved, eventually.
But still, especially in stations, compass is a quicker way to get your bearings.

Folks don't seem to understand.
This is DAVID's vision.
We are but along for the ride.
As backer's we 'wanted' to be in David's vision.
As for folks that paid for ED after release - well you knew what you were paying for.
ED will mature and will change over time. Ideas and visions will/do change.
If it's not for you - so be it.

This is not valid. We are not along for the ride - we are the ride, in no small part. The cold, hard reality is - we are consumers of a product that is, as you say, destined to change.

As such, the original "vision" of one man becomes entirely irrelevant. Just as stories grow in the telling, a project like this has already acquired a life of its own, and the direction of its growth will be based on a combination of what the majority of players desire, what the developers can plausibly implement, with a little of the original "vision" sprinkled atop it for general direction. This is the way of all such projects.

Incidentally, I'd like to add to that there list above:

* We should be able to bookmark systems in the galaxy map, adding our own labels so that, at a glance, we know which of those grains of sand we parked our ships in or where we were planning on going next.

* We should be able to toggle the orbital lines of any discovered object via the system map. Thus toggled, those lines should persist regardless of supercruise state/speed.

* Furry dice should be available for purchase at all good station gift shops.

* All stations should have gift shops.

Good ideas. :)

* There should be an offline mode.

* So people can mod the game.

* And put useful stuff like this in.

* Which let's face it FD are not likely to get around to.

* Why is there no offline mode.

* I like this game.

* There should be hats.

I like the hanger animation too.
The launch option definitely could do with a confirm/abort

One that bugs me...My radar/sensor 'zoom' resets to mid setting after every jump, I like it where I put it

Re: the above, how about an "abort launch" option?

Really would be useful to avoid out and in issues on accidentally touching launch. Agree.

Skip hanger animation? So you mean skip real time...

easy...smoke this.

With the exception of point 1 and 8 I agree entirely, this needs to be brought to FD's attention by a lot of people, they have proven in the past that they listen and respond to CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and this falls under that. hope this works out accordinlgy.

All good suggestions, my additions:

Select all/none button on Galaxy map Govt/economy section (they added it in for the trade routes)

Black market icon (once visited/entered ie it wont pop up if you dont look) on system map

Major Faction icon over stations in system view

System view and orbital lines having a bindable key

+1 for galactic average / export as separate columns, and the being able to tag/bookmark certain systems
