(Gameplay mechanic feedback) ''Search zone''

The search zone checkpoint race when you go to find something like a building.

Its ment to simulate the idea that the on-board computer is narrowing down the search location.

The issue is , that its not.
The outpost , building or what ever you are looking for will spawn on the last checkpoint. and will often spawn in front of you.

I personaly think that it would be better gameplay if it gives you a single POI and you have to find the area on your own.
Or keep the mechanic , but have the building spawn before the last checkpoint.

I hate to play armchair dev , but I dont like this gameplay mechanic at all... and I cant see its point.
Sorry , if this is too negative

Nope, not too negative....just constructive feedback. I'd rather the search zone be exactly that....a zone. The better your scanner, the smaller the zone will be, but the zone will be clearly marked on the planet map and/or on your HUD. You then use your Wave Scanner, within the Zone, to locate what you are looking for. Either way, though, the final location of the PoI should be fixed at the point of using your discovery scanner to reveal it, even if said location is hidden from the player at first.

A similar mechanic should be used for finding any non-mission based PoI's on a planet
