Which ones do you think are likely and not likely? I have some of my own that I think are just "nah" or ":/ hmm..." because of a few reasons, but I would like to hear yours.
First, the age group mechanic is a great idea that allows many of the ideas in the video to be effective, as opposed to them just being alternates of other buildings in the same category with no distinguishing features besides appearance.
Another great idea he suggests is adding a visibility rating for viewing attractions. As it currently is in the game, dinosaur visibility is based solely on whether the dinosaur is in the viewing arc or viewing circle of the attraction. What he's suggesting is that it should be more nuanced, with some attractions providing a higher visibility ratings than others, which I agree with.
I imagine the River Kayaking would be relatively easy to implement since that would work with the shallow water already present in the game. The River Boat Cruise would require more work to implement since it would require deep water, which we do not have in the game. Not only would Frontier need to create deep water, but probably swimming animations as well. For the sake of ease, I was thinking that only Spinosaurids and tall Sauropods would be able to cross deep water. The four Spinosaurids would hopefully be able to use the same swimming animation, so that Frontier would only need to create one new animation. The tall sauropods, since they would just walk through the deep water, would require no new animations. For the rest of the dinosaurs, deep water would act as a natural fence between enclosures. (I know the video doesn't say anything about deep water, but I feel as if a discussion on it is necessary for the River Boat Cruise to work)
I feel as if a Safari Truck Tour would be pretty redundant as a result of the Jurassic Truck Tour. However, I believe novelty and nostalgia is also important, and thus I'd still like to see it. Additionally, this is one example why the age group mechanic is a great idea, because its implementation would make a Safari Truck Tour less redundant, since the two attractions appeal to different age groups.
I love the idea of a Treetop Gazers attraction, but I'm unsure how it would be implemented. Would it be similar to the viewing platform, except Sauropods would now approach it to be fed by guests? Or, based on the concept art in the video, would it be an elevated path that connects to fences, or perhaps can even be built through an enclosure?
I feel iffy about the Triceratops Territory (Herbivore Feeding Show). I don't see how it's any different than building a regular viewing gallery and placing a feeder right in front of it, which I already do. Even considering the addition of a visibility rating, it seems potentially redundant. On the other hand, it's a cool design.
I don't like the Raptor Paddock (Small Carnivore Feeding Show). Even in the context of a fictional video game, it seems incredibly dangerous for guests.
I feel iffy about the avoidance beacon and the dinosaur lure. They shouldn't be included solely on the basis that they were in JPOG. They need to have a purpose other than "Nostalgia!" Perhaps the avoidance beacons could be placed near densely populated guest areas to deter dinosaurs during a potential breakout? Perhaps the dinosaur lure could be a security measure to lure dinosaurs back into their paddock during a fence breach?
In regards to the Farmstead, I've been trying to think of a carnivore-equivalent to the Greenhouse ever since its addition to the game. However, I was so busy overthinking, trying to think of something science-y and sophisticated that I didn't realize a simple farm would work.
I like the idea of mechanical rides. A carousel-type right and a roller coaster I'd definitely include in my parks. Although not mentioned in the video, I believe a Ferris wheel would work as well, since it would simultaneously provide fun
and dinosaur visibility.
I'd love to include a Botanical Garden or Bamboo Forest in my park. However, he brings up a good point; these buildings are somewhat pointless if there's no beautification rating in the game.
I like the idea of an Aquatic Park with pools and water slides. However, I hope it wouldn't be
too big. Perhaps no larger than a little bigger than the build space required for a hotel?
Tennis and Golf Course. No. A golf course would require WAY too much space in my opinion. I like the rationale behind Tennis and a Golf Course, but I dislike the idea itself; since Jurassic World takes place on an isolated island, it makes sense that we need to provide guests with all of the amenities that they would find at home, which includes some sort of physical activity. Based off of this, perhaps a simple Gym would work better.
Similar to the Safari Truck Tour, a Natural History Museum would potentially be redundant. However, the novelty of it attracts me to the idea.
In regards to Open-Air Markets, I've been trying to think of that for a while now, but have never been able to find the words to describe it. I'm so glad he found those words!
He mentioned the implementation of additional food and drink facilities. I made a similar thread regarding that found here:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/guest-facility-variety-food-drink.520558/#post-7972995 I'm glad he and I are on the same page regarding that.
Gondola Lifts would be an excellent transport option. I'm very iffy regarding the Tracked Jeep Tour, as I feel as if it would be too similar to the Safari Truck Tour. Perhaps a better alternative would be some sort of tram or bus? In regards to the Helicopter Tour and Balloon Tour, I love the idea of them as a viewing attraction, but dislike the idea of them as a transport option; as a result of the sheer amount of guests in the parks, using helicopters or balloons to transport guests would be terribly inefficient.
I love everything he said about accommodation. Visually, each accommodation facility is unique, and the implementation of the age group mechanic would make them even better. I would hope that the Tree-Top Apartments would also provide dinosaur visibility in addition to the standard hotel.
He mentioned a lot of stuff from JPOG, so I'm surprised that he didn't mention a 360 degree viewing platform. Just something that I noticed.
