Community Event / Creation Gaming Against Alzheimer's - 12 Hour Elite Dangerous Live Stream

Hello folks,

As some of you may have read in Kate Russell's Sloughbells forum post I will be running a 12 hour Live Stream of Elite Dangerous on Sunday March 22nd from 10am GMT to 10pm GMT to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society in memory of the Late, Great Terry Pratchett. Over the course of those 12 hours I'll be going as many of the things that Elite Dangerous has to offer with my usual irreverent humour and naughty language.

The lovely Kate has decided to move her usual Sunday stream to Friday night in order to support this insanity, but will be joining me live from 4pm til 7pm to wing up for some epic Pew Pew in Lugh. She has also donated some fantastic goodies, such as Astronauts Ice Cream, Signed Copies of Mostly Harmless, anime dolls and more, to giveaway to viewers over the course of the stream so please pop in to donate, watch, chat, and get your hands on some fantastic swag all in aid of Alzheimer's research.

Update!!!

As of Yesterday's Stream this community has so far raised £2,703 for the Alzheimer's Society. With gift Aid this adds up to £3,088! The stream will continue to be centred around this charity drive until 22nd April when the Donation page closes. At that point I shall bid occupied space farewell at 10pm and depart from Pratchett's Disc into the black loneliness of the void, a reborn explorer.

Please come and see me off, I will be giving away voice packs and signed Norman Lovett pictures before I leave to say thank you to all you lovely donators.

Hi everyone,

I support of Mahddogg's awesome drive and in support of teh Alzheimer's Society I'll be making a pilgrimage to Pratchett's Disk on the 18th April, flying my Cobra from Morten-Marte to whatever system the Disk is in.

I'll be streaming it live on twitch (twitch.tv/selezen) and hopefully doing some giveaways (if I can obtain stuff to give away) including a couple of PDF copies of the Elite Encounters RPG.

w00f! Hello everyone!

At 6pm BST the very last Gaming Against Alzheimer's stream will go live on http://twitch.tv/mahddogg where I'll be organising a couple of events for viewers to take part in, as well as some fantastic giveaways courtesy of HCS Voice Packs and David T W Hughes the creator of Elite Encounters.

Over the past month Gaming Against Alzheimer's has raised nearly £4000 for The Alzheimer's Society. I have had the privilege of collaborating with some fantastic people who have contributed with their time, products and support to make this drive as successful as it has been. I'm swollen with pride and gratitude for what has been achieved, or that may be the full English breakfast I've just eaten; who knows.

There will be two viewer events tonight:

1 - Asteroid Field Laser Tag :: Pratchett's Disc - HIP 74290

Rules:

From 6pm - 8pm Rendezvous at the station in stock sidewinders with no upgrades. From there participants shall form wings of four, these are your teams, and fly out to the asteroid field. The location will be chosen and all wings must drop into the instance and gather together. Wings will have one minute to fly away from the other teams and take up positions in the asteroid field, after the minute is up, it's weapons free!

This is a team death match situation with NO RESPAWN! If you are killed in the round you may not rejoin the fight and must wait for the next battle. Last team / Pilot Standing WINS!

2 - Demolition Derby :: Pratchett's Disc - HIP 74290

From 8pm - 10pm Rendezvous at the station with stock sidewinders. You must sell all weapons and shields to participate. At the beginning of each round pilots must take up position in the air lock area of the station (surrounding the Toast Rack). There will be a countdown in Local chat to begin each round.

Like the laser tag, if you blow up you are out of the round. You may gather above the entrance to watch the rest of the round play out and may not join again until the next round.
