Gaming PC reccomendations

It's a new gen game that they are pushing pretty hard so there is no reason to be believe it won't be both CPU and GPU intensive. We have seen from the SLI profile thread that there is the ability to significantly increase FPS and also if you have the same CPU and test with the integrated GPU, say a 970, 980 and 980ti you will see that this game is still GPU intensive.

This may be down to drivers too not being optimised yet. And since it is going to be a DX11 game then the new GPU's are not a must as it won't take advantage of the increase we are seeing with DX12 with both brands.

Hey OP - like you I am going to be getting a new PC to run this game. I also have a rubbishy laptop at the moment.

You should wait a little while. AMD will be releasing their new 480 card at the end of June. It is rumoured to be between GTX970 and 980 performance for around the £200 mark (hopefully less but we'll see on release).

If you were to think about self build too, you'd get a much better system for the money than you can buy off the shelf. I'm going to be doing this. Use the time to research different components and how they fit together. Here is an example which would play this game (and most other games) really well. But as I said, I am waiting for the new AMD card to come out - why buy now when in less than a month you can get better performance for the same money.

This build is £527.90. You'd need to add Windows (unless you can use your existing laptop version?), a monitor, keyboard and mouse. But other than that its a solid build, and better than what you posted from Amazon before.

Total: £539.60
(includes shipping: £11.70)

okay so im going to put my word out there. @op the current display you have linked is more for fps and shooters (because of its sub 2ms response time) i would look into ips displays if your more concerned with graphics than extreme speed response times (the difference is not that easily differenciated). also do you posess the knowlage to build youre own computer? if so what dan lightbulb posted is a very good build that i would highly recommend :).@dan, i wouldnt believe the hype. amd is losing steam in the GPU race imo. most of theyre cards are cheaper, but theyre performance reflects that. i do have to admit the R9 series are really good cards
@OP (again) it might be a good idea to switch out the i5-6400 on dans list with a i5-6600k, its the CPU i use and it has not given me any issues

Yep, we need to wait till end june and see. I for one cant afford a top end gpu, so hoping that amd will offer strong performance for a fair price. It would be silly not to wait though. Agree on the cpu, but going to a 6600k does add around £130 to build cost (cpu +£50, mobo +£50, cpu cooler +£20, possibly larger case & additional case fans. Its what ill be going for though.
