Gaming PC

Hi,

I am looking for some help and guidance for a gaming PC. I live in the UK and my budget is around £1000.

I have seen a gaming PC on currys:

PC SPECIALIST Tornado R7 Gaming PC - AMD Ryzen 7, RTX 2060, 2 TB HDD & 512 GB SSD
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Processor
  • RAM: 16 GB / Storage: 2 TB HDD & 512 GB SSD
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB
  • 243 FPS when playing Fortnite at 1080p

would this be suitable to play planet zoo and planet coaster on?

any recommendations would be highly appreciated.

It really seems a bit expensive. At this price there should be at least a a 8GB-card of current generations included.
And btw…. sometimes (often?) boring looking system offer better value, than LED-cluttered ones….

edit: they don't even mention which brand and type the SSD is (or the HDD)....I guess these systems there are some kind of "throw anything in, which is left-over"

It's better than the first offer, because it names all pieces including RAM and SSD/HDD. I can't comment on the price, because I don't live in the UK.

But it only uses one 16 gb ram in single channel. Usually (and especially with an AMD CPU) you want two identical RAM sticks in dual channel, because this gives you a performance boost for very little cost. 1 X 16 gb ram is slower than 2 X 8 GB = 16 gb Ram

Personally, I would also consider this one: https://www.ebuyer.com/981863-alphasync-ryzen-5-3600-16gb-ram-1tb-hdd-240gb-ssd-rx-5700-as-d5253

It has:

  • a much faster GPU. But some people had driver issues on it release, so there are potential headaches. According to the Amazon reviews, this seems to be a rather bad cooler design. So this card can get hot and will be loud.
  • a newer GPU with fewer, but better cores. This is better for most games right now due to suboptimal multi core utilisation.

But I am not a expert, so take this with a huge grain of salt!!!

There are so many different towers out there that's the problem and no matter which one I choose or like there may be problems with it.

I just don't fancy spending £1000 on a computer to get it delivered and then it not run smoothly etc.

The joys of PC gaming 😂

Not sure what makes a pc a GAMING pc but I do agree you need a faster gpu than a 2060 (6gb only)

Dual channel is only 1-2% so that is not really important. And if wanted you can just buy a second 16gb stick. What kind of warranty do you get with this? I am thinking this is a bit less for 1000 pounds however this is a prebuild pc. They got to make money too

Good evening.

what do you think of the below:

GPU ok
CPU ok
The Mainboard and RAM in Combination with the CPU is kind of odd and unbalanced (speed/vrm)…for me a no-go
SSD as NVME is nice, but with 128 GB it's rather small (even for a System-Drive) and 1 TB as HDD is also a bit small. Sure bigger drives would cost more, but they also have a better value and give less headache in the future.
But...hmm if you only play one game 24/7 ...it will work.
The Cooler seems to be an AiO, which could be an option...but I don't know this brand and have no clue how long this one will last.

How much is this stuff?

Just to let people have an even better idea desktop gaming computer which I built for my son specially for PZ cost me £1,850 and that's for everything, but i saved a bit of money on cables.
  • Mouse/keyboard,
  • Gaming moniter,
  • SSD (250 GB, but only because we bought the wrong one, was meant to get a 500 GB one.)
  • GTX 1080ti Graphics Card
  • I think i have 32 GB of RAM,
  • Case,
  • WiFi adapter thingy,
  • CD Drive (For older games)
  • I7 and Windows 10 (I don't know the specifics of the motherboard and that though, but it's a good one.)
  • Probably more that i don't remember, but those are the most important.
My son playing it on said computer since it came out and the only issues he have had are the games fault i think. Things run smoothly even with 3000+ guests, assignments and 100+ animals though perhaps not with full creative potential in said zoo.
