Gank Evasion Academy

Alright, I've been putting out some feelers to see if there's any interest in this and there seems to be quite a bit.
I am offering gank evasion training to any players that wish to play in open and would like to learn how to survive getting ganked by other players. The idea here is to allow players to actually practice surviving a gank instead of just watching a video and hoping you remember everything when the time comes.

First of all:
-I am currently only offering this to players on PC (if I can find some gankers on console that are willing to train, it might eventually become an opiton)
-You must be in the bubble or Colonia so we can train with you
-You must have a headset or a way of communicating with us

How this will work is, we will attempt a gank on you (don't worry, no death is necessary until you're ready) while talking you through all the steps on how to survive our attack. We will start with the basics first, submitting to an interdiction and high waking, and then make it increasingly more difficult until you feel like you're ready for the gauntlet. The gauntlet will be a full wing of gankers playing for real, using FSD disrupt missiles and wake scanners while you try to escape.

At this point, you're never gonna convince the entire ganking community to stop ganking so I'm offering a way to survive their attacks and to be able to go about your business without the fear of seeing a rebuy screen. I think this will be a fun way to connect with the community and my hope is that those we train will pass down their knowledge to other players.

If you're here just to talk trash about gankers, that's fine but I will be removing any negative players from the discord that join just to talk trash.

Also, if you are a ganker and wish to become a trainer as well, you're more than welcome to join. However, if you just use this as a way to gank, I'll just ban you from the discord. Also, if you're someone I don't know, I will need to have you to show me that you are capable of surviving a gank yourself to ensure that you're giving other players proper training.

Join this discord to sign up and @ me to get your roles.

Edit: If you're not comfortable joining a discord, feel free to add me as a friend in game and send me a message and I'd be happy to give you some private lessons using the in-game chat. My CMDR name is Sir Ganksalot

I am also looking to put the feelers out and train pilots how not to be ganked. I played in open until squads then it became stupid fo ME!. If you don't want ganking then don't join open, hence why this post exists. Gankers gonna get bored..boo hoo. I'll be back in open soon when carrier is filled but you wont see me because you'll just hover around the div spots

Sounds like the shark is chumming the water 🤭
OP seems to be very funny guy.
Who better to learn from than an actual ganker. If I'm not being genuine there's nothing to stop you from coming back here to warn everyone.
I also wouldn't have spent and hour putting together a discord just to gank people.

I was just wondering... what if everyone knows how to dodge a gank in the end? Where's the fun in that for the ganker? ;)
This plan doesn't seem to have been well thought out... :geek:
What Rick said. Its a lot more fun when its more challenging. I don't really sit around ganking anymore anyways. Like you've seen before
I like to toy around with players instead of just straight up ganking em.

If this is a genuine offer (and I have a good feeling it is) then Nice One Commander! as the old Spectrum 48K used to say.
It really is genuine. I may be a ganker but I really enjoy helping players too. If I just wanted to gank I wouldn't go through all the hassle to put this together. And like I said, if it isn't genuine there's nothing to stop you all from coming here to warn other players.
I've also had a lot of great interactions with the pve community lately and I think this would be great way to connect and get together with more of them. Maybe even get some of them interested in legit pvp.

Will there be a chapter on the skilful switching between solo and open ?

This game has a built-in 'cloak' function - if another human player sees me on their screen it's because I want them to see me, or something went wrong ;)

Like I said, this is for players that want to play in open and avoid unwanted player attacks. If you wish to play in solo, that's cool and good CMDR.

Please, don't take it the wrong way, but this argument makes no sense. I mean, why would a dude go to open if he doesn't want player interaction, including random attacks?... I go in open very rarely, but when tried to prank some people in one of CGs back in day, not even in combat capable ship, NOONE even tried to say something, everyone ran from me, and few even logged, like from the plague...

I do play in open when it suits me - my hobby is blocking the single medium slot of small stations and enjoy the view and buzz of angry Pythons (y)

The way to avoid 'gankers' is in the meta-game or at 'strategic level', this is more for players who enjoy dogfights at a disadvantage imho,

eventually though when faced with a wing of capable pilots in good ships the single pilot will have to run and hide, I think, no ?

Well there are quite a few players that want to play in open and do things like go to Jameson in their exploration or cargo ship and not die from random gank attempts. Nearly every player I've ever ganked has done literally everything you're not supposed to do when getting ganked so I want to teach those players how to properly escape. If you want to switch to solo and avoid it all together, that's all well and good but there's many players that would like to continue playing in open and not die every time they encounter a ganker.

Well it sounds like you have your own strategy. But let me answer your question with another question. What do you do when you're flying around, in open, minding your own business, when a ganker pulls up behind you and interdicts you?

Believe it or not - that has never happened, that's what I mean -

IF your goal is to avoid 'gankers' and you know how to manipulate game mechanics to achieve that, it will never even come to an interdiction.

They don't 'just' pop up behind you and interdict - you can see them miles away on radar.

Flying around just minding your business is the first mistake, situational awareness is key

Enter a system in solo and only switch to open while docked, observe system from a well-defended, friendly, no-fire zone,

don't fly stacked cargo missions in open for example, no reason for that, the continuous NPC attacks will just distract you,

those are the techniques I'd teach to people who just want uninterrupted game....
