Ganker Hood - Prince of Thieves

Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, riding through the sky
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, how the 'splorers cry
Loved by the bad, feared by the good
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood

He called the greatest railers to a tavern on the green
Where they all vowed to kill the people of the Queen
Like they "handled" all the troubles on the CG bounty scene
And yet still found plenty of time to preen!

Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, riding through the sky
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, how the 'splorers cry
Loved by the bad, feared by the good
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood

He came to Pallaeni with a fervor to his bite
A fighter's always looking for a fight
His rail was always ready, and he kept his trigger tight.
He used them to fight, for might is right

Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, riding through the sky
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, how the 'splorers cry
Loved by the bad, feared by the good
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood

With Vindelanos and Harry P. they had a roguish look,
They did the deeds the others wouldn't dare.
They captured all the salt, had the shieldless 'splorers shook,
And "rescued" oh so many a container fair

Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, riding through the sky
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, how the 'splorers cry
Loved by the bad, feared by the good
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood

To cheating and corruption, he would ever, ever race
And minmax was his breakfast ev'ry day
The factor in the station and the engi in the base
Were always helping him get away

Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, riding through the sky
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood, how the 'splorers cry
Loved by the bad, feared by the good
Ganker Hood, Ganker Hood

Just mix that over a fat beat in Garage Band on a Mac, and you're an MC with a record label too.

After that, you just need to come up with a cutsie nickname for your little brother, his waterhead friend, and the deaf kid from across the street, and you've got yourself a crew.

Although it didn't rhyme, there was a heck of a lot more poetry in that than in the OP :D

You'll have to refer that to the original songwriters, I kept their rhyming scheme (mostly) intact. That said, it's a song and not a poem, although I'm guessing the reference may be lost on younger folk.

Read it as an exercise in that modern style of urban poetry that pollutes much of the airwaves these days, and can be heard pouring from overdriven subwoofers mounted in vehicles from a considerable distance away.
