Ethics is complicated, but to think that sitting behind your computer, playing/interacting with other people, takes away any responsibility on your behalf, is wrong. I know some don't get it. I do not care, and I've learned to defend myself against those. To me they are still jerks. That was what I thought, when I started playing the game, and I still think so. Be nice. Why? Because we all expect others to be nice too.
I don't mind pirates. They are just feeding their kids, and so am I, so I might decide to say "no". I also like PvP in general, but rarely meet someone inviting to a fight these days. Perhaps because I'm not "harmless" no more.
