Ganking ?

One tip I'll give to folk is this. Set your navigation before leaving the station, raise your landing gear and be prepared. When you exit the station put all pips into either the engines or shields and find the correct hyperspace alignment. Then boost to it as quick as you can and hyperspace. Do not dawdle because that allows people to attack. I know this won't always work but at least it makes the campers have to work for their kill.

Hopefully with the introduction of the police force the camping behaviour will be lost.

Actually it would be better to exit the station, immediately curve around the superstructure after you clear the cattle grid, put the station between you and suspicious contacts - don't leave the no fire zone.

THEN boost away, and micro-jump; just hit supercruise and disengage after a second or two. Might wanna curve a bit during those few seconds for good measure. Then, when you're a couple of hundred kilometers away from the station, take your time setting up your destination and hyperspacing away.

Supercruise engages in a fraction of time required for hyperspace. If you just beeline it for the exit vector with hyperspace in mind, they can catch up with you and the only thing you'll be doing then is frying yourself.

I gave a camping Cobra a nice surprise. I undocked at full speed and boost in eagle, as soon as I got out the toast rack he tried shooting. I shot pass, and then turned and unloaded all missles (two missiles racks and two full loads worth). Killed him instantly.

Though he did respawn and arttempt to ram me on the docking pad when I went in to rearm. He failed at that too. :D

Hello DarkWalker!

This is exactly the kind of thing that we want to use the background simulation for: aggregated data from player activity causing state changes in systems.

Hello Liqua!

Hear, hear! Elite shouldn't be about "winning" or "end content" - it's about a (hopefully) fantastic journey - never quite knowing what you're going to find as you arrive in a new system!

Hello kilvenny!

Ironman (we'll hopefully find something more suitable to call this at some point!) players will only ever be able to meet other ironman players. Anything else would be extremely unfair and lead to all sorts of aberrant behaviour. And yes, you can have groups in this mode of ironfolk.

Oh, and you'll definitely find me lurking in the ironverse in The Bright Black, my trusty Cobra MkIII...

Can you also filter out (exclude) other IM players?
