Garrison supplies: what are they?

During the process of undermining a certain system (PP related) I have come to possession of cargo labeled "[power name here] Garrison Supplies", which I have now more than 40 filling up my precious cargo room -- Its a nice amount of cargo but I've got no clue what to do with them? Should I just toss them in the space or can I utilize them somehow?

Used to fortify Control Systems. In turn you earn merits, ie one merit per ton. Who are you pledged to?

To Edmund Mahon. Currently I am one of his control system, but I am unable to find a way to turn them in. I've checked all the station's menus.

On your right panel, in the cargo tab, highlight and select the cargo. It should give you a description of what they are and what you can do with them. I've seen this for Torvul's Political Prisoners where it says one can use them if you are pledged to another Empire power but are otherwise useless.

^Thanks, this helps. Unfortunately this cargo seems useless to me. I would need to be pledged on another power to make use of it.

Garrison supplies dropped from powerplay ships are only "beneficial"(1 merit a ton) for players
opposing within the same alignment (fed/imp).
For all other alignments, they are dead weight.
Get rid of 'em.
