Gas Giant with Water Based Life ...circling a Neutron Star!

That's a definite first for me! I am soooo proud :D

Apologies for the darkness in the picture, but the Neutron Star doesn't emit too much light.

Nice find, I've found a couple of those myself. :) The neutron star doesn't give off much in the way of light, but more than makes up for that in hard radiation which the micro-organisms in the gas giants thrive on.

any life and any planets around a neutron star are total bull ;-)
i always smile when i find such a system

or neutron stars with 0.6 solar masses

or other crackpot-stuff

you can keep smiling because the universe will always hold surprises, if life turns out to flourish easily in our galaxy i wouldn't be surprised at all of this happens.

anyway i have found lots of earth like worlds orbiting neutron stars, which is pretty crazy, there must be a lot of mushrooms on these worlds.

I don't know; I haven't studied Astronomy. And even if I had, I would not presumptuously write off any possibilities just because they haven't been proven, seeing how life can sprout almost anywhere even on our own planet.

Found a Gas Giant with Water Based life last night too. And a Water World. I got a pretty nice screenie of each of them, but since the Gas Giant is kinda plain looking to look at, I angled to put the planet eclipsing the nearer star of a binary system but still have the other visible off to the side.

Unfortunately, all of these pics are on my home PC right now.

You are wrong, very wrong and if you haven`t studied astronomy/astrophysics do not presume anything even if it is your hope "there are so many stars so there must be life everywhere".
Oh, BTW astrobiology is the sort of science you should master.

There is a fish called the Osorezan dace that lives in an acidic lake in Japan.
It's the only known fish to live in acid.

We just discovered this. On our own planet. I don't really see how you can claim to know everything that is or isn't possible out in the cosmos beyond our own solar system, unless you're god.

Is that you, god?
Why are you living in the ED forums...
