Gas giants with rings - do they instantly show places for possible Asteroid Bases?

Just got me my first system with ringed gas giants. They don't show places for possible Asteroid bases inside the rings. (while they clearly show them in asteroid fields)

Will they pop-up later upon scanning the rings?

Immediately below the gas giant should be slot 0. I helped a fellow CMDR build a very nice asteroid base in the rings. Finished it this evening.

Are we talking this one? This slot 0 here means an asteroid base in the ring?

Select it and see if it offers "asteroid base" as a construction option. If it does, it'll build it in the ring. If it doesn't, then presumably there's some obscure reason that ring can't have an asteroid base, and something built there will end up either just inside or just outside the ring in its orbit.

Thank you, I will once I finish this first outpost to claim the system. Until then, it just gives the generic "you can build here" with no details.
