Gear Vr too close to the dash -- I dont have positional tracking

Ok, so I don't have the VIVE or Oculus, I'm cheap and wanted the poor mans VR
I set up the Samsung Gear with TriniusVR and got great result on great settings. Yeah it's clear!
That being said however, I'm to darn close the dash! As I'm using the Gear and not the other 2 I don't have positional tracking so it not a matter of simply sitting back.

What I would LIKE is a way to have the camera pulled back further, like when you press shift -- I would like it remain in that position permanently as a matter of fact while being able to look around. Is there a control mechanism in game somewhere that lets me control that? B\c again, I can't simply lean forward or back and expect anything to change.

Also I'm using TriniusVr perhaps a setting in there? But I suspect its Elite's fault here.

without positional tracking I have no idea how to get it to work... how is the scale?! is everything perfect besides the Position?

Scale is perfect, I just want to sit further back. Kind of looks like im sitting really far forward at the moment
Its all perfectly readable I don't even care about the (missing?)UI scaling.

Have you tried the RESET HMD position in control settings? You can assign it to any key and it might help.

That just re-centers it but it doesn't move me backwards further in the chair

Does the FOV slider do anything?
I'll try that when I get home and report back

I did contact the Trinius dev and mentioned that a manual positional control might be useful for this. -- *Might be coming in the future* --

so is the camera in front of the in-game hotas, like over the feet or something or is it something wrong with the 3D depth?

I had FOV maxed out, so that wasn't the issue.
The issue was the zoom function in Trinius I reduced from 100 to 75 and its much better now!

No, what was happening was, I could barely see the joytick and throttle by looking forward.
Normally on my monitor I can see about 1/2 way up my arm by simply glancing forward and the radar is in a nice spot.

Man...VR is hard to get setup properly.

Not sure if you have tried it, but you can also try Vridge by Riftcat - I found it to offer the best "phoneVR" experience for ED. ED basically recognizes it as Vive and you can play away. Personally I found it to be the best option until I got my Vive

Holy crap Kapow
I assumed TriniusVr was really stable and fast, I'm never not using Vridge again. That was so much better and faster and easier to setup!! Thanks for the recommend! That was the 1st time i ever had the outta body experience that VR can provide, I was giggling looking around in open space and the menu screen, i just...i just stared at it for many minutes in awe.
Then I tried to dock >_>;;; I was running out of time because i couldn't read the port number. Is there any way to tone down that glow so I can make out letters/numbers better?
