Geforce GTX 1050ti with Oculus Rift?

Hi all,

I have a Small Form Factor PC, currently using a Geforce 750ti. I'm looking at different options for upgrading (including shifting everything over to a larger case, upgrading PSU etc) but I see one option is the new GTX 1050ti which draws its power from the PCI-E slot it is in, just like my 750ti.

I read a while back that it would meet the minimum requirements for the Oculus Rift but I was wondering if anyone was using one or could possibly report on how well it works with this graphics card.

Thanks in advance!

The 1050 will work fine with VR, but it will be near the low end of the scale. Entry-level VR, but advanced features like ASW will work.

1050Ti is roughly on par with the older 780GTX and 970 GPU.
At a guess you'll be able to run moderate detail settings in ED, with no supersampling or HMD Quality above 1.0.

Alternatively, low detail with 1.25x HMD Quality might be possible. That would reduce aliasing in the Rift a lot, but needs power. ASW will probably keep ED at 45fps much of the time - you'll still see 90fps in VR but there will be some artifacting from the synthetic frames inserted between each real rendered frame your 1050Ti will output.

Nvidia has tested ASW on the 1050Ti;
