GeForce® GTX 1070 + HTC VIVE Bundle price drop

Thats a bit like saying Star Citizen is a complete full better game than Elite Dangerous.

May well turn out to be, but SC is not yet complete or completely built!

Well, I wouldn't go quite that far.
SC has been in development limbo for almost six years without anywhere near a finished game to showcase.

The Pimax 8k might not be fully polished yet but it is a near finished product with a detailed and thought out process for how to get there.
Unlike with SC, Robin Weng the CEO of Pimax isn't going to burst through the door tomorrow and tell the engineers to drop everything, add AR cameras and foot based controllers, cause we need feet in VR too.
(Yes, playing various VR games, especially arizona sunshine etc I miss the ability to use my feet)

Take the simplest of bottom lines.
I never backed SC, not even during their KS hype train.
But I have pledged $600 for the 8k, I consider it a gamble but I can afford it if I make some other cuts in luxury items, mostly waiting to get that replacement bulb for the projector and less booze for christmas.

I suspect that won't really hurt me or anyone near me that I'm a little more sober.

Anyhoo this is trailing off topic.

It's a good deal for a vive and a decent gpu for those who want it.

It was an Analogy not direct comparison, and aimed at the remark that Pimax has been claimed on this thread to be a HTC beater.....Might well be, but like you commented, NOT YET!! A bit a way a way to go before that claim can be tossed around!

its already been seen pimax 4k is the king of clarity in regards to vr atm,the pictures and reviews say it all.
pimax 8k 210 fov which is coming next spring is going to blow everyone else away, why u think vive a occulus have dropped there prices?
its old tech now and outdated...

Dang, it sounds like I'm gonna miss a hell of a party!

It is a very good price for the Vive, but, I can get an Oculus and the same GPU from Best Buy for $1 less...
