A lot of us have favorite dinosaurs that are unlocked early in the game like the triceratops, edmontosaurus and ankylosaurus, however when stacked with the later 3-4 star dinosaurs, they feel a bit lackluster when compared to pentaceratops, muttaburrasaurus and sauropelta in terms of rating and quality.
To balance these dinosaurs in the later game, I suggest to introduce Gene slot + modifications. These are researchable modifications in the gene section of the research lab, they are unlocked with 100% genome of the dinosaur, and when the park has reached a 3-4 star rating.
What they do is very straightforward. After paying a good penny and being patient, these modifications should allow to add 3 new slots to these dinosaurs. These should allow dinosaurs to be further customizable such as additional options for lifespan, resilience, and attack.
Ultimately, the end result would be beginning (1-2 stars) dinosaurs that are customizable enough to reach a close quality to late game (3-4 stars) dinosaurs.
