Dinosaurs Gene splicing

Your Feature Request / Idea
So In Jurassic World Evolution there is a mechanic where you can add different types of genes to make your dinosaur stronger or more durable but the system is a bit lacking imo. I would love for there to be more depth and effects like adding cheetah genes to make your dinosaur faster or wolf genes to make your dinosaur more social. This feature will really make the gene splicing mechanic more in depth since currently it is really simple.

Especially if it added a much needed importance to gene splicing. Lets say we leave carnivores as they are, a more docile, more realistic nature. With the aggregation gene mod, now it not only increases attack, but overrides the need to attack for food, or perhaps the frequency the animal will attack for food. That way, if the animal has a full array of aggregation mods, it will basically be a giant monstrous killing machine and little else. (Think a rabid dog, genetically (Ethical? Nope)).

That could even have lasting game play effects such as giving rep to entertainment, as you created a terrifying new show, but annoy science for creating a spliced monstrosity and annoy security as now they have to find a way to house it.

I back what Bishop said, there are currently genes in the game that could affect more than just stats and therefore improve the dynamics this mechanic creates with the rest. More involvement from this system would add a nice touch and depth to gameplay. After all, that sort of stuff is exactly the premise behind the first JW movie, they created a scary genetically spliced abomination just for the show of it.

Interesting Idea!
This can go hand in hand with future Dino AI development. Every additional behaviors added can be made customizable.

i don't understand how a gene that makes the dinosaur faster would work that makes no sense,... you already have reaction speed

u want them to run faster or something? that's lame

It might be true this game is lacking in certain areas if you compare it exactly to other park simulators or tycoon games, but the point is the dinosaurs, and improving with the gene splicing ties directly into that. Plus this is JW franchise we are dealing with.

I'd love that a faster dinosaur actually makes a difference, and other behavior additions with the genetics.

Also Just like in the movie Jurassic World the Indominus Rex has cuddle fish dna that helps her camouflage. So why not make the gene splicing in the game more in depth like I said before adding cheetah dna would make the dinosaur faster.

I agree with both OP and Greybishop: genes should have more impact than just stats but, to do so, the more pressing urge is developing an acceptable AI.

I really thought we'd get this from day 1, that the gene modifications would affect the dinosaur needs - for food & water, space, sociabilty etc. So yeah, would like this too.

E.g. Robust Digestion decreases food need/metabolism, Intuitive Learning would mean the forest and grassland requirements are less, Aggressive Instincts lowers the comfort threshold (as well as the existing attack, defence, resilience, lifespan affects).

I agree the trait upgrades are very basic and don't really do much in altering your dinosaurs, apart from age and skin colour.

As a paleontologist. I know that large carnivores such as Allosaurus, where found in packs instead of be alone, this wasn't displayed in the game or in the movies, but it would be great to have a social trait to make this happen in the game, also with the T-rex.
This has already been implimented with large carnivores such as spinosaurus, Suchomimus and baryonyx. So should be easy enough

Also between the indominus rex and the raptors would be good Idea.
