I have a few little questions and points I would like to make known:
When given alternate options for missions, I would prefer if it was more clearly derfined HOW to accept such alternatives - OR to ignore the counter-offers and continue. All too often I have either found the original missions seemingly no longer completable when alternmative is offered, or when trying to abandon the original in favour of taking the alternative, accidentally discarding the mission outright.
Which brings me on to point #2, that when a mission is failed or Discarded, how (if at all) does this affect ones' reputation and/or relations with factions involved?
I have noticed certain NPC pilots for certain corporate factions which I have had no dealings with, always show as 'red' - they do not attack and are not WANTED... is this an unexpected feature or intended?
Please allow for more versatility and options available for pirates. It seems counter-productive that whilst so much seems to have been geared towards limiting the PvP aspects of commander-commander conflict, but for pirates there doesn't seem to be much in the way of options that do not tend to lead to combat.
Some suggestions might include credit transfer, commander-applied bounties, factionalism and anti-factionalism, with such counter-piracy items such as 'cargo-traps' and localised "distress flares" (which may highlight the instance as a particular signal type for commanders in the vicinity) etc.
Thargoids - I am going to suggest that maybe these aliens have the ability to "interdict" a commander from the Interstellar Frameshift unlike the usual pilot interdiction which only operates on intrasystem travellers.
Not only will this allow for a more suspensful 'ambushing' of pilots, but will also bear some semblance to the almost 'canonical' sense in which the Thargoids were always present in "witch space" (essentially interstellar space reached by cancelling Hyperspatial jumps whilst in progress) in some original versions of the Elite(tm) title.
Lastly, How does one reach Cygnus X-3 ?
Is there some potential trans-singularity wormhole travel possibility here?
