General Question: - What are you looking to do when water is in Planet Coaster

(If this does not belong in this Category, please feel free to move it to the appropriate place. Still kinda new to the forums)

okay, so pretty open ended question, Basic. I know that at some point between Alpha 3 - Final release, Water will play a great feature in P.C. I know right now, that Waterfalls look great just with the "Fountain" water VFX

Example. from my own park.

Personally, I Really hope that they add some kind of waterfall feature (RCT3) or something that allows us to terrain edit and let the water "Flow" naturally down the slops.

What are some things that people hope to make/ see with this kind of feature? just out of plain curiosity

I want Frontier to include a "cheat code" that allows us to "build underwater" so, that we can make an entire park under the sea!
Of course all the guests and rides would work the same, except guests would wear snorkels [haha][haha][haha]

-- and we already have floating guests! --

I remember thinking it was just the coolest thing on previous RCTs building and riding the little "submarine" ride. I always thought it needed more targeted theming, but it was a lot of fun to play with. It was just a graphic filter, some light shimmers and sound effects, but still cool.

Haha Robert YES! Thats exactly what I was thinking of [praise] underwater themeing would be awesome, especially if we could make underwater tunnels for coasters or other track based rides [up]

I want tunels to work under water. Glass tunel. For all path, and track rides.

I also want waterfalls to be easier to use and in different shape, size and angle.

And the possibility to have very small bodie of water and waterfall.

Glass (well, polycarbonate) underwater tunnels would be an excellent addition to pathing and coaster building.

But then you'd also have to have fish and other aquatic creatures for the guests to marvel at. -- Wait! Expansion pack: Planet Coaster Aquatic Creatures! Buy it and a truck comes along and dumps fish in all your water features.

Seriously, I haven't seen a single bird or insect in the whole alpha. We at least need the sounds: cricket sounds for nighttime and bird sounds for daylight. And tinnitus for the older guests. [happy]

Wait! Where are all the older guests? The ones who sit on the benches (benches?) and watch their grandchildren (grandchildren?) have fun throwing up on all the rides. As a senior, I don't feel the least bit of representation in PC and I get angrier the more I think on it. Maybe I'll sue. Yeah. That's what I'l do! And get off my lawn you little carpet munchers or I'll call the cops on you and your parents!

Hmm. That'll work. Now I just need a lawn. And neighbor kids.

Once water is available in Planet Coaster, I will try to make a beautiful lake which will remind me of RCT1 scenario Leafy Lake.

On a side note, I've edited the title of this thread because of a typo (Plant Coaster > Planet Coaster). [up]

Build lakes bridges and waterfalls. I'd also want water reflection too which i think my i7 6700k procressor and high end sapphire nitro overclocked amd r9 390 will be able to bring out. Also create picnic areas around lakes with rides nearby for my peeps to rest.

Also create a coaster which feels like a log flume ride. And then share a video of it on youtube.

LOL. Need a good Plant Coaster. that would be fairly awesome though!

I'm gonna make a coaster that flings guests into the water!!

Or... once water rides/water transport rides are avalible, make an awesome island park like in the previous RCT's!

While I have to wait until PC comes out, I want to make a river with rapids, if possible.

Depends on what the water will be like.

Meanwhile i don't like to imagine things i don't know how they will be like; Just to spare me disappointment.

^ Have you watched Frontier's official Announcement Trailer for Planet Coaster on the official YouTube channel? It featured water and the graphics look amazing. Imagine and be inspired. Frontier also makes Screamride for Xbox One (and Xbox 360), and the water detail (and the waves) on the Xbox One version of Screamride (I have the game) is great. I also noticed that the water reflection in The Sims 4 while playing on 1080p Ultra maxed settings on my Intel Core i7-6700k system with Sapphire Nitro overclocked AMD Radeon R9 390 system, looks incredible and amazing at 60fps. Frontier makes great simulation games. So the water detail is likely to look good too when the game is completed and fully optimized.

There will be log flumes.

Oh, there will be so many log flumes.

Loooooooooog fluuuuuuuuuuuuumes.

[yesnod]

Of course i have seen it and it was an announcement trailer.

It looked Ok, but wasn't awesome to me and this is my personal view. And everything else showed meanwhile was Ok for Alpha 2, but not for stages after that. Again my opinion.

If they come up with something like in the following video in a 2016 Version. Then i am impressed.
River current set by JimmyG for the 12 year old RCT3.

I think the "old" is still a serious competitor on the market. Though the Graphics and AI of the guests and balance of the programme are not the best in my opinion (They were back then), the mods still make it fresh and new.

I agree, in certain aspects the game wasn't perfect and it lacked certain things. But when you keep in mind the game was released over 10 years ago and see what modders are able to do with it...it almost turned into an entire new game overtime. Just shows how good this core game was.

Hopefully PC will pick up where RCT3 + modders left of and can become the platform for the next 10 years [happy]

2. Things

1. Economic System where you really have to manage employees and mechanics and such.
2. Mod Support. RCT3 is the most popular Roller Coaster Game ever due to his awesome mod Support.
3. Visit other Parks as visitor via Online Upload and give them a score. So you have a incentive to create a innovative and beautiful park, not just for your own.

Frontier, can we please have water in *the next update* Alpha 2.4 or what you call it. It doesn't have to be perfect. And perhaps the following update, make improvements to it like water reflection improvements, how the water flows improvements, etc. I'm thirsty! I also think Planet Coaster needs a proper Log Flume ride as a ride, where we can build the log flume trail ourselves and customize it. Maybe it will come in an expansion pack or something. Another idea is jet water boating or a ride where you can ride water bikes etc on the water. I have Kinect Sports Rivals on Xbox One and I love Wake Racing where you get to race using vehicles and complete courses on the water.
